Wreningham wasn't beaten far off this mark at Southwell latest and should have his say but this could go the way of SHERJAWY, who has hinted his turn is near with a couple of good placed efforts this month. Zoe Davison's inmate loves it round here and has scored off much higher marks in the past. Forty Proof has also slipped to a decent mark and, along with recent course (6f) third Invigilator, he must be considered in an open heat.

This looks between Saucy Cat and COURTESY CALL, who were separated by a length when the former scored (Tectonic fifth) over 1m3f here last week. The latter enjoys a 6lb swing in the weights this evening and, having appeared to relish the step up beyond 1m that day, Mark Johnston's charge is taken to reverse the form. Bountiful Catch hinted further would suit when runner-up over 1m on his recent return from a break and is no forlorn hope with that pipe-opener under his belt.

Ian Williams has his string in fine form at present and he can add to his tally with J J LEARY, an improving sort who went close to completing a double over 6f at Wolverhampton off this mark on Friday. This front-runner shouldn't mind the drop back in trip and he looks a safer option than Macdonald Mor, who has shown ability but takes a big drop in distance of his handicap bow, and Lesotho, a maiden winner at Hamilton on only her second outing when last seen but that was 263 days ago.

It was no surprise to see CHEYLESMORE not last home in a 1m2f handicap here in January and he will relish the drop in trip and class this evening. Three of his four wins last year came at this trip and, already a winner on Polytrack, he can prove too good on his first outing in claiming company. The biggest dangers appear to be Indian Art, who also drops from handicaps and will have benefited from a recent pipe-opener, and Alpha Tauri, who was runner-up in this grade over 1m at Southwell 15 days ago.

SPLENDID LIGHT made a debut full of promise when fourth in a decent 1m Newmarket maiden in October 2010 and although he has clearly had his problems since, he has plenty of ability and looks worth chancing on his return to action, especially for a stable with a good record at this venue in recent years. Dynastic shaped as though further would suit when narrowly held over 1m here in October and with a recent run under his belt, looks most likely to capitalise if the selection fluffs his lines. Niceofyoutotellme couldn't confirm the ability shown on his Warwick debut when well beaten at Goodwood in July but he cannot be dismissed just yet.

Having opened her account at the second attempt in a 7f maiden, HAAMAT showed that win to be no fluke when following up with ease on her handicap bow over 6f at Lingfield earlier this month. She is 7lb higher now but is expected to come on for that seasonal debut, as well as for the return to this trip, and William Haggas' filly looks like one to keep onside for the time being. Ducal and Street Power have been raised 5lb and 6lb respectively for landing C&D events last time out but the latter did the job much more impressively and can ask the most questions of the selection.

One More Roman has been knocking hard on the door in plating company and warrants respect back in a handicap off a feasible mark but he may have to play second fiddle again, this time to FLYING KITTY. The form of her impressive 6f win here last month looks rock solid, with four subsequent winners in behind, and a 7lb rise may not be enough to halt him with this extra yardage no concern. Auntie Kathryn has been running well in defeat and should also have her say in the finale.
