1mGood to Soft (Soft in places)
HUMBOLT CURRENT shaped with considerable promise when runner-up on debut to former stablemate Willie John at Yarmouth in October and the step up to a mile is guaranteed to bring about further improvement. His trainer and owner both teamed up to take a division of this 12 months ago with Call To Mind and they will be hoping this son of Fastnet Rock can follow in similar hoofprints. Mapped was third in what looked a good novice contest behind Extra Elusive here over 1m on debut and is another expected to improve with time, while others to watch include debutants Deliverance and Team Decision.
HUMBOLT CURRENT's Yarmouth debut second in the autumn contained plenty of promise, his late headway particularly encouraging given he had run green initially. He looks sure to improve now tackling 1m and can make it second time lucky. Boing very much caught the eye at Kempton 10 days ago and is feared most, ahead of Coolongolook and Mapped.
