Hugo Palmer's Manchego has some lofty entries to his name with the Dante and the Derby both featuring in his portfolio of future engagements, and that would suggest the Kremlin Cottage handler fancies him to step up on his debut second at Newmarket last season and play a big role here. Falak represents powerful connections and a market check needs to be given despite not looking overly convincing on debut, while the Dubawi colt Dayking is also considered at a track where Godolphin send out regular winners. However, Ed Dunlop's SIR GNET was an expensive 275,000-euro purchase which catches the eye and the trainer in fine form with his all-weather runners of late, so the son of Galileo gets the nod.

DAYKING, a full brother to Lucky Nine, is bred to be well above average and, aside from the promising Manchego, those with form don't make much appeal, so he's taken to make a winning start. Colourful Career's pedigree suggests he should relish artificial surfaces, so he's the more interesting of the Ed Dunlop-trained newcomers.
