NATIONAL GUARD displayed some encouraging signs when finishing fifth on his debut at Cork recently and that performance suggested the experience would not be lost on him. If the son of War Front does take a step forward, he will be hard to beat. That said, North Wind and Vidiyni have similar profiles and cannot be discounted, while Indigo Balance and Erich Bloch are two very interesting newcomers.
It looks significant that Ryan Moore partners newcomer CARDINI ahead of stablemates National Guard and North Wind, both of whom arrive here on the back of promising debuts. The case for Cardini will be all the more compelling if there's confidence behind him in the betting and he may well lead home a Ballydoyle 1-2-3. Vidiyni shaped well on his introduction at Dundalk is best of the rest.
