Masterplan finished last season with a Towcester rout and Charlie Longsdon's gelding must be considered if arriving in the same form, while Sister Sibyl could easily build on her third-placed showing on her Warwick seasonal bow. However, preference is for Donald McCain's KILRONAN CASTLE, who scored well at Leicester recently and is well treated under a 7lb penalty. Baron Du Plessis bumped into an impressive rival last time and despite the form of that race being let down at Fontwell earlier in the week, Ian Williams' six-year-old could still be dangerously placed at the foot of the handicap.
KILRONAN CASTLE justified strong support when bolting up in a Leicester handicap last week and may well be up to defying a penalty here. Sister Sibyl improved on her hurdling form when a promising third on her chasing bow and looks the principal threat. Masterplan is next best.
