There was much to like about CITY OF JOY's return to form at York in a competitive handicap last month and this step up in distance should suit the son of Elusive City. A mark of 94 looks fair and he can account for the recently-gelded Crowned Eagle, who takes a drop in class, and First Nation, who is yet to win on grass but has some fair form behind some smart types. The Statesman could prove best of the remainder.
Back down in class/trip following a couple of defeats in Group company, CROWNED EAGLE could be the answer to this competitive-looking handicap. The son of Oasis Dream got the better of a useful type on his sole previous start in a handicap at Windsor in May and this mark should be within reach. First Nation will also appreciate dropping back in trip and is next best ahead of Monticello.
