Verdict

An excellent maiden to begin proceedings with plenty of well-bred individuals on offer. Aidan O'Brien saddles four of them and the main hope of his appears to be THREEANDFOURPENCE, a full-brother to two Group 1 two-year-old winners in Brave Anna and Hit It A Bomb, who has Ryan Moore in the saddle. He looks the type to be more forward than the stable's other contenders Spanish Point, Hunting Horn, and Zabriskie who are all related to Group 1 performers. Hazapour is one to note with Dermot Weld's team back in excellent form and being related to last year's dual Derby winner Harzand, while Gobi Desert and Waikuku both would appeal if the market speaks positively for them.

Verdict

With Ryan Moore booked, it looks as though THREEANDFOURPENCE may be the pick of Aidan O'Brien's quartet, and this well-bred colt is the suggestion in a race where the market will likely prove the best guide. Hazapour, Zabriskie and Spanish Point are others who make plenty of appeal on paper.
