ST JOHN'S, a narrow second at Ludlow last time, took a big step forward on his handicap bow and a 3lb rise might not be enough to stop the five-year-old from shedding the maiden tag over hurdles. Marvellous Monty has placed in eight of her 16 career starts and, with blinkers now applied, should pick up more prize money. Change Ur Tune could prove best of the remainder.
ST JOHN'S improved for a switch to handicaps over a longer trip when second at Ludlow last time and is taken to build on that. Dan Skelton's Sea of Mystery could prove a different proposition now handicapping in headgear, particularly if the market speaks for him, while Marvellous Monty is also likely to figure under Brian Hughes.
