FRIENDLY ADVICE was less than two lengths away on debut at Musselburgh and followed that up with even narrower defeat over 5f here, and the extra furlong could bring about the desired improvement. Constant was well beaten here on his first outing but won nicely at Yarmouth last time, while Happy Power showed improvement from his opening effort when successful over C&D and has to be considered.
CONSTANT left his debut well behind when making all over 7f at Yarmouth last month, beating a well-touted newcomer trained by John Gosden and subsequent winner Three Comets in the process. He is marginally preferred to a similarly promising type in Happy Power, who readily outpointed a next-time-out winner over C&D. East makes plenty of appeal on paper and is most interesting of the remainder.
