Roger Varian has enjoyed decent success when sending runners over to Ireland and he has an excellent chance of adding to his tally with MASAARR. The son of Distorted Humor was a little frustrating earlier in the season but the return to a mile has improved him. A pair of blinkers saw him produce a career best in a Listed contest at Deauville, and he can progress further now stepping back into Group company. Zihba lost his unbeaten record in the Irish 2,000 Guineas but returns to the scene of his Amethyst Stakes success. Escobar is also respected back up in class having looked unlucky at Goodwood in the Golden Mile.
ESCOBAR has been bang on his game without having much luck in top-end handicaps of late and looks well worth a step up to this level. Provided the gaps come at the right time, he can get the better of the upwardly-mobile Masaarr, who is respected along with American Pharoah's brother St Patrick's Day.
