Limato is likely to defend his crown in the Prix de la Foret at Chantilly next month.
Henry Candy's five-year-old claimed his second Group One success in the seven-furlong contest last autumn, having dominated his rivals in the July Cup at Newmarket earlier in the year.
He has failed to add to his tally so far this season, but has performed well to be placed in the Diamond Jubilee at Royal Ascot and the July Cup and was last seen finishing a close-up fourth in the Lennox Stakes at Goodwood.
Limato holds entries in the Challenge Stakes at Newmarket on October 13 and the Qipco British Champions Sprint at Ascot the following week, but Candy is keen on a return to France.
"He's in great form and I think it's the Foret or nothing," said the Kingstone Warren-based trainer.
"He'll be in at Ascot, but it's going to be really soft this year, I'd have thought.
"He'll go to the Foret in search of quicker ground."
