About Highclere Thoroughbred Racing
The distinctive light blue and navy silks of Highclere Thoroughbred Racing have been carried to big-race victories across the globe for over 20 years.
Success has been achieved in Group 1 races throughout Europe together with many other wins and places in pattern company and valuable handicaps stretching from North America to Australia.
Their list of champions is headed by Harbinger, 11-length winner of the 2010 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes, but also includes brilliant filly Petrushka, who triumphed in the Irish Oaks, Yorkshire Oaks and Prix de l'Opera in 2000, as well as top sprinters Tamarisk and Lake Coniston.
Highclere's squad of trainers is equally impressive, with famous names including Sir Michael Stoute, John Gosden, Luca Cumani, Richard Hannon, Freddy Head and Roger Charlton all regularly featuring on the roster.
Though their success has been predominantly on the Flat, Highclere also manage a small band of National Hunt horses, where their trainers include Nicky Henderson, Paul Nicholls, Philip Hobbs and, most recently, Willie Mullins.
At The Races is following four horses from the Highclere stable - Banish and Foresight on the Flat and Boston De La Roche and Caro Des Flos over jumps - with a view to providing our viewers and website users with an insight into the ownership experience with Highclere. All the content within the section for each horse comes from the regular and detailed updates that Highclere provides to their owners.
Highclere's experienced team is headed by Harry Herbert and also includes John Warren, bloodstock advisor to The Queen and responsible for sourcing many of Highclere's youngsters from the top sales across Europe.
