Verdict

Yarmouth winner Wiff Waff has been in fine order at the East Anglian track this summer but needs to prove he is just as effective now switching to a synthetic surface and preference is for COWBOY SOLDIER, who has won two of his five career starts so far. Robert Cowell's Kodiac colt was not disgraced last time when third in a competitive Goodwood handicap and can gain compensation from the same mark. Gold Filigree completes the shortlist.

Verdict

This can go to COWBOY SOLDIER, who has already scored twice and shaped as if there is more victories in the pipeline when a fine third at Goodwood earlier this month. Yarmouth-winner Wiff Waff is feared most.
