Verdict

Last year's winner Time To Study arrives with a point to prove and is 5lb higher in the ratings than 12 months ago, but Mark Johnston has booked Doncaster specialist Andrea Atzeni and it would come as no surprise if he bounced back to his best. Walton Street drops back into handicap company following his latest third in a Group 3 behind stable companion Hamada, while Nakeeta is capable of steeping up on his Ebor seventh and Speedo Boy is another to take seriously. Under a nice racing weight, though, is BEN VRACKIE, who brings an unexposed profile to the table and was by no means disgraced when attempting to give the 105-rated Maid Up, who takes her chance in the St Leger on Saturday, weight and a beating in Group 3 company at Goodwood last month. The son of Frankel was only beaten a length and a quarter that day and the Lingfield winner is of considerable interest now handicapping for the first time. Titus absolutely bolted up at York latest and the John Smith's Cup fourth is noted despite his subsequent 11lb hike in the weights.

Verdict

The vote goes to SPEEDO BOY, who did well to finish as close as he did when third in a valuable York handicap last time and the booking of Ryan Moore adds to his appeal. Austrian School looks rock-solid and is next on the list ahead of Walton Street, who is unexposed over this sort of trip. On To Victory could go well at a price with conditions in his favour and Ben Vrackie is also of interest.
