Brief purple patch over the summer, scoring at Worcester and Newton Abbot. Disappointed next 3 starts, but was in the process of running well in first-time blinkers when departing last time.

Best effort for a while when runner-up at Stratford on penultimate start but as expected didn't build on that last time.

Firmly on the downgrade now, but did better recent efforts when runner-up at Taunton (23f) last month. Not sure to build on this.

Verdict

HEDGEINATOR was brave in defeat when bumping into Sandown specialist Pete The Feat at the Esher track last month but he can make amends here with the talented James Bowen back in the saddle and running from the same mark. It's A Steal was beaten a long way at Taunton but is still nicely treated, while the main opposition may be provided by Jack Snipe, who was running a blinder before he unseated Robert Hawker at Plumpton last month.

Verdict

JACK SNIPE found first-time blinkers having a positive effect and was in the process of running well when departing last time. He gets the nod in a moderate contest. Hedgeinator is firmly back on track judged on his latest second at Sandown, and he looks a big player off the same mark.
