Verdict

EL GUMRYAH ran well for a long way over 1m at Newmarket last time and is expected to show up well now dropping back to 7f. Hostess took a step in the right direction when runner-up over this trip at Lingfield last month and rates the main danger after skipping an engagement at Newmarket on Friday. Evolutionary should be all the wiser for the experience gained on debut at Newcastle, while any money for Mark Johnston's newcomer Country Star would be notable.

Verdict

EL GUMRYAH should take all the beating in this event for an in-form yard. She finished a creditable third in a decent looking Newmarket novice event which has worked out reasonably well. Hostess and Evolutionary are both potential improvers who may build on their runs to date.

Verdict

OPEN SEA showed signs of greenness when fourth on debut at Pontefract but the experience gained that day is unlikely to have been lost on her and she was putting in her best work in the closing stages that day. Furious drops back from 7f after finishing a creditable fifth first time out at Goodwood and can fight it out for the minor money with Invincibella, who is penalised for her 5f Kempton victory last month but promises to be suited by this extra furlong.

Verdict

FURIOUS ran well behind a subsequent Group-placed filly at Goodwood in early August and she should prove too good for this small field despite the 72-day absence and drop in trip. Open Sea will give her most to think about for a yard that does very well at this venue. Invincibella makes most appeal of the remaining runners.

Verdict

FLORA TRISTAN has gone ever so close on the last three occasions and Marco Botti's filly has the chance to land a deserved victory off an unadjusted rating here. Aguerooo found just one too good over course and distance last week and has to be considered, while it would be foolish to rule out Spirit Of Zebedee, who made the podium over track and trip last time.

Verdict

ZORAWAR is the type of horse that David O'Meara gets winning eventually and he's well handicapped on the pick of his French form. He should be able to build on his Wolverhampton run and go close. Flora Tristan does little wrong but her maiden status is offputting. Turanga Leela is operating off a dangerously low mark and could be of interest after being unlucky last time.

Verdict

Kevin Ryan's KODICAT was second over course and distance when last seen and should have more to come off the same rating. She can confirm form with the consistent Dreamboat Annie, who was third that day, and has since run with credit at Leicester. Dollar Value should improve from his track-and-trip reappearance last time, with Oisin Murphy back aboard Lethal Angel as she drops back to six furlongs.

Verdict

KODICAT is likely to attempt to make all in this uncompetitive sprint. He is well drawn in one and a repeat of her run here at the end of last month would see her involved in the finish. Dreamboat Annie is turned out again quickly after a creditable run at Leicester and she may have more to offer. Lethal Angel is certainly not one to rule out either.

Verdict

Course regular Samphire Coast made a welcome return to the winner's enclosure last time but a 7lb rise for that easy victory makes life harder and opens the door for Simon Crisford's BOBBY K. The promising three-year-old found just one too good over 10 furlongs at Newcastle and the drop back to a mile could help him go one better. Caring Touch wasn't far away on his first run since a wind operation and is another to note.

Verdict

CARING TOUCH represents a yard that does very well with its runners at this venue (33% since the course opened) and she makes plenty of appeal as a lightly-raced filly having only her fourth start, and second since wind surgery. Weellan should continue his consistent run of form switching to this surface for the first time. Bobby K is of interest if there is money for him.

Twenty six runs since last win in 2015. 4/1, seventh of 11 in handicap at this course (10f) 9 days ago. Well drawn and makes some appeal with cheekpieces back on.

Verdict

MR POTTER has never won over this distance but the course regular was beaten only a neck over track and trip off a 7lb higher mark in the spring and, following an encouraging run last time, could be the answer in this competitive contest. Innstigator made the podium here in February and now makes a first start for new handler, Sue Gardner, while Guardiola, C&D winner Ertidaad and Bond Angel in the first-time cheekpieces have to be respected.

Verdict

MOLTEN LAVA is on a long losing run but the drop back in trip in this grade might be what he needs to get his head in front at long last. Well drawn and with Luke Morris in the saddle, he shouldn't be far away. Guardiola should run well if fully fit after a short break. Safrani is best of the remainder on his polytrack debut.

Verdict

SPECIAL MISSION has been hitting the frame over further of late and having been beaten less than a length on her last try at this distance, is backed to get off the mark for Sir Mark Prescott. Yaa Mous looked a filly on the up when scoring at Leicester last time and could have more to come stepping up in trip now, while Imperial Choice picked up a silver medal at Sandown and is only 1lb higher here.

Verdict

IMPERIAL CHOICE has been knocking on the door in handicaps of late, and with more progression likely, she may prove the best bet in this competitive fillies' handicap. Exeat faces an easier challenge to the one she had at Newmarket last time and she may represent some value in the race. Yaa Mous would be dangerous to dismiss in her current form.
