Verdict

PADDY A performed much better when dropped into class 6 company at Newcastle last week and must be of interest here wearing a first-time visor with top amateur Simon Walker booked to do the steering. He is one of three course winners in the field, with the other two being German Whip, who disappointed last time out, and Ted's Brother, who doesn't look open to any improvement. Tagur could prove the main threat to the selection.

Verdict

PADDY A was well backed and took a step back in the right direction dropped to 0-65 company when fourth at Newcastle 6 days ago. Returned to the scene of his last success/partnered by Simon Walker, he looks one of the likelier types here. Tagur and German Whip are others to consider.

Career best when winning 9-runner handicap (7/2) at Wolverhampton (16.6f) 13 days ago, keeping on well. Shortlist material.

Verdict

MAMBO DANCER has been in good form over the winter and looks poised to go in again assuming he gets a decent gallop to aim at. The four-year-old remains on a workable handicap mark and could have too much for Azam, who should relish this step back up in distance, and Havana Beat, who was rated as highly as 112 three years ago. Bear Valley is interesting up in trip on his stable debut with Jamie Spencer booked to ride.

Verdict

MAMBO DANCER has improved for the step up in trip this winter, landing 2 of his last 3 starts and he holds sound claims of adding to his tally despite a subsequent 5 lb weight rise. Hurdles-winner Thahab Ifraj has often signalled a crack at this sort of test would suit and he is feared most, ahead of Azam.

Verdict

Sir Hamilton is clearly a useful operator in the making having followed an impressive success at this track with another victory at Kempton last month. However, she could struggle to concede 7lb to BEAUTIFUL MEMORY, who looked all class when bolting up over this C&D last time and the penny appears to have dropped with Saeed bin Suroor's charge now. Ambient debuts for a new stable but has already proven consistent and cannot be ruled out with confidence.

Verdict

SIR HAMILTON was value for extra when supplementing his course success at Kempton last month (both 1m), and with further improvement expected over this trip, he is marginally preferred to Beautiful Memory. Ambient had a few chances for Roger Varian but should still be a factor at this level.

Winner at Wolverhampton in January. 13/2, creditable third of 7 in handicap at Kempton (7f) 14 days ago, nearest finish.

Verdict

Cainhoe Star has been knocking on the door of late and should run well again, while Arnarson can usually be relied on to give his running and he was in the mix again when finishing third at Kempton last time. However, SPARE PARTS has been a revelation since joining Phil McEntee's stable and registered his fifth success since the turn of the year when winning at Wolverhampton at the weekend. He has been expertly handled by his trainer and should have plenty more to offer.

Verdict

SPARE PARTS is just about the most progressive AW handicapper around, winning for the fifth time at Wolverhampton on Saturday, and a penalty may not prevent further success. Cainhoe Star and Arnarson head the opposition.

Verdict

HARBOUR PATROL has been handed a 6lb rise for his recent victory at Wolverhampton, but that may not be enough to halt his progress his here. Cockney Boy is turned out for the third time in a week and is respected for a top all-weather handler, while Rising Sunshine and Tasaaboq are synthetic surface specialists who can't be discounted in the hands of two top female apprentices.

Verdict

HARBOUR PATROL is allowed to run off the same mark as for her latest success and is selected to follow up. Evanescent is clearly capable in this grade and may prove the chief threat, with Rising Sunshine pick of the remainder.

Verdict

Some would class JUSTICE ROCK as an unlucky loser here over six furlongs last time and the extra furlong he encounters here should see him give him enough time to get up to full speed and pounce this time around. Burauq has been on the premises of late and has to be respected, while it would be no surprise to see Be Bold make a pleasing raid from Rebecca Bastiman's Wetherby base.

Verdict

JUSTICE ROCK fared better than of late when third here last week and would have finished a bit closer still but for meeting trouble, so earns the vote off the same mark. Burauq arrives in good heart and is next best ahead of Binky Blue.

Verdict

Jamie Spencer and Jamie Osborne linked up successfully with VOLTURNUS last week over 1m6f here and the slight drop in distance should be no issue here as the four-year-old looks to follow up under a 6lb penalty. He is 4lb well in on official figures and that could see him account for nearest challenger Navajo Star, who knocked on the door at Newcastle last time. The consistent Miss Dusky Diva and Koubba are others to note.

Verdict

NAVAJO STAR shaped well on debut for this yard when runner-up at Newcastle last week, doing best of those ridden prominently, and she's one to be interested in at this level. Volturnus is the obvious threat under a penalty having bolted up here last week.
