Took advantage of Monalee's fall when winning Neville Hotels Novices' Chase in December. Kept fresh for this can boast a likeable profile as she bids to become the first mare to win this race.

Verdict

Willie Mullins has won four of the last six runnings of this event and he appears to have two solid chances this time around. Invitation Only is the obvious one with Grade 1-placed form under his belt and having Ruby Walsh aboard, but at the forecast prices, KEMBOY might be worth chancing. Paul Townend's mount ran a cracker when fifth, the first of the Irish home, in last season's Ballymore and he has arguably progressed to another level since switching to fences, recording solid win and placed efforts at Fairyhouse. He ticks the ground, trip and track boxes and should give his supporters a good run for their money. Modus wasn't beaten far in the Coral Cup 12 months ago and is likely to arrive on the scene travelling well under Barry Geraghty, while Terrefort, Benatar, Snow Falcon and Shattered Love, the only mare in the line-up, add further spice to the race.

Verdict

No stand-out performer in this Grade 1, but INVITATION ONLY's close-up third in the Flogas Chase appeals as being the best form on offer, and with improvement on the cards too, he can provide Willie Mullins with a fourth success in a row in this race. Terrefort has made a faultless start to life with Nicky Henderson and is feared most, ahead of the mare Shattered Love.

Suited by the step up to 3m when close second at Leopardstown over Christmas. Caught the eye making good late headway there in cheekpieces (retained) since. One for the shortlist.

Verdict

Another competitive renewal of this contest but the nod goes to LOUIS' VAC POUCH, who caught the eye when winning well at Aintree back in November. A 13lb rise for that success is harsh but the form has worked out extremely well and he remains thoroughly unexposed over 3m. Glenloe appears to be a big threat and all of his efforts this season suggest that a big run can be expected today. Forza Milan chased home the selection a couple of starts ago and he should be thereabouts once again. If the ground remains very soft then Protek Des Flos would be a player given his record on heavy ground, whereas Wait For Me would have a similarly good chance if the ground dries out.

Verdict

GLENLOE was behind the same owner's A Great View when third at Leopardstown over Christmas but this has presumably been the plan all along and it looks significant that Barry Geraghty sides with him now. The other Gordon Elliott runner Delta Work has plenty going for him too, while Who Dares Wins, the unexposed Forza Milan and Louis' Vac Pouch look best of the British runners.

Verdict

Cue Card won this race back in 2013 and, after a very brief spell in the doldrums, he showed that the ability is still very much there when chasing home exciting prospect Waiting Patiently at Ascot last time. There will be no more popular winner than the 12-year-old and he is fancied to run well, but it's difficult to get away from last year's impressive winner UN DE SCEAUX. Another popular horse, the Willie Mullins/Ruby Walsh representative arrives having had the perfect preparation, winning at both Cork and Ascot, and with testing underfoot conditions in his favour, he could gallop these rivals into submission. The sponsors have two interesting runners in Christmas Chase second Balko Des Flos and Sub Lieutenant, who finished runner-up in this event 12 months ago, while Cloudy Dream is likely to come there travelling powerfully but whether or not he goes through with it is a different matter.

Verdict

It's very hard to get away from UN DE SCEAUX who saw off the reopposing Sub Lieutenant in this last year and has looked every bit as good as ever when winning both starts this term. 2013 winner Cue Card showed he's still a force to be reckoned with when second in the Ascot Chase and won't go down without a fight if turning up in similar form, while Cloudy Dream will be suited by the drop in trip.

Dawn Run Mares' Novices’ Hurdle one of 5 wins in 2016/17. Also landed Grade 3 mares' event at Leopardstown in December, but didn't seem to stay 3m latest and cheekpieces now applied.

Verdict

Unowhatimeanharry, third in this 12 months ago (with Lil Rockerfeller second), suffered a surprise defeat at the hands of Beer Goggles in the Long Distance Hurdle and was then put in his place by Sam Spinner when third in the Long Walk, a race in which L'Ami Serge split the pair in second. That result saw the Jedd O'Keeffe-trained winner take over at the head of the ante-post market for this contest, though he was later usurped by Supasundae after the latter beat Faugheen in the Irish Champion Hurdle over a trip considered short of his optimum. Jessica Harrington's charge was, however, held by YANWORTH over 3m at Aintree last term, and with testing ground known to suit the selection, who won in breathtaking fashion on slow ground here when tuning up for the 2016 Neptune, Alan King's charge is one to consider closely now switching back from a spell chasing. Last year's Albert Bartlett winner Penhill, who has been absent since April, would be one to consider closely if attracting market support.

Verdict

SAM SPINNER has to be one of the most progressive hurdlers around, showing a tremendous attitude to see off L'Ami Serge in the Long Walk Hurdle, and he could well become the dominant force in this division (6-y-o, after all). Yanworth and Supasundae occupied the first 2 spots in the Liverpool Hurdle in April and perhaps head the opposition, in that order.

Winner of first 2 starts in this sphere and no surprise that he struggled in the Kingmaker at Warwick last time. May well resume progress back up in trip/returned to handicap company here.

Notched second victory over fences with a thoroughly decisive display at Huntingdon (19.9f, soft). Now 7 lb higher in a much deeper race, so improvement will be needed.

Useful hurdler who landed 4 of his first half-a-dozen starts over fences last year. Far from disgraced here when last seen in October but career best needed by some way if he's to take this.
