Twice-raced maiden. Fifth of 6 in minor event at this course (7f, good to firm, 50/1) 14 days ago, flattered by proximity. Easy enough to look elsewhere.

Verdict

WILD EDRIC got off the mark at Wolverhampton two starts ago and he was not disgraced in a competitive race last time out. Dubai Discovery is from a top-class North American family, given that her dam is an unraced half-sister to the Grade 1 winner Frosted, and it would be no surprise to see her go well. Others to note are Absolute Dream, Axel Jacklin and Zip.

Verdict

ABSOLUTE DREAM returned to form when seventh in a big-field York nursery last month, a race that looks sure to throw up plenty of winners, and he can capitalise on the return to calmer waters. Wild Edric is feared most provided he shrugs off a lesser effort at Haydock, though market support for the sole newcomer Dubai Discovery would need to be viewed positively.

Didn't need to improve to win 10-runner handicap (15/8) at Salisbury 18 days ago, very much having run of race. Still, entitled to remain competitive on back of small rise in weights.

Verdict

NIGHT OF GLORY put in some encouraging efforts at this track when last seen back in May and he may improve for the application of a pair of blinkers for the first time. Project Bluebook was sent off favourite for a similar event over two miles here last time out and can be given another chance. Baydar and Suegioo are others who merit places on the shortlist.

Verdict

A decidedly trappy affair with the narrow vote in favour of the returning NIGHT OF GLORY. Andrew Balding's 4-y-o has been given a chance at the weights and could well be the way to go fitted with blinkers. Project Bluebook and Ravenous are others to consider.

Maiden/Minor winner on the AW having missed 2-y-o season and better form when third of 5 in a listed race at Hamilton (11f) in July. Worth a carck at this longer trip on that evidence.

Verdict

SHAILENE finished fourth behind the likes of Magic Wand and Forever Together in the Cheshire Oaks at this track back in May. She was an impressive winner at Chelmsford two starts ago and her defeats either side of that have been at the hands of some high-class rivals. Blakeney Point ran well in the Ebor last time out and is an obvious threat to the selection, while Hochfeld is the pick of the remainder.

Verdict

BLAKENEY POINT is a reliable, versatile sort who ran up to his best when fifth in the Ebor at York last month and, with the return to much softer ground holding no fears, he can come out on top back at listed level. Hochfeld and Ralph Beckett's Mountain Bell, under much more suitable conditions, are a couple of others to consider.

Lightly-raced maiden. Fifth of 7 in nursery at Ffos Las (5f, good to soft) 32 days ago, merely passing beaten rivals. Others arrive with more pressing claims operating from 5 lb out of the weights.

Verdict

ROCKIN ROY seemed to benefit from making all of the running at Beverley on his nursery debut, when holding on gamely in the closing stages, and a 6lb rise on a track which should play to his strengths shouldn't be enough to stop Archie Watson's colt. Deputise returns to the scene of his second career success two starts ago and is respected along with Blyton, who went down by a head at Wolverhampton when last seen.

Verdict

DEPUTISE made good strides forward on AW/turf earlier this summer and whilst he couldn't continue the good work on nursery debut ay York in July, he's well worth another chance to get back on the up now. Blyton from the plum draw in stall 1 and Rockin Roy rate the chief threats.

C&D winner. 5/1, third of 5 in handicap at Newmarket (6f, good to firm) 22 days ago. This the softest ground he's encountered since his heavy ground victory over C&D 12 months ago. Interesting.

Verdict

GUARDIA SVIZZERA has been in terrific form of late, having landed the hat-trick at Hamilton at the end of last month, and Roger Fell's gelding could have further improvement to come despite a 10lb rise in the handicap. Bossipop returned to winning form here a fortnight ago and can prove competitive once again off a 2lb higher mark, while the veteran Confessional has his conditions to strike having placed at Haydock earlier in the month.

Verdict

Typically competitive stuff with a chance taken on RUSSIAN REALM. Potentially well treated now, Paul Midgley's charge suggested he was back in form when mid-field at Thirsk 2 weeks ago, and he is fancied to be on the premises late on granted the breaks. Ginbar is also interesting back on softer ground, with the most progressive Guardia Svizzera also shortlisted.

Latest win at Carlisle in June. 12/1, ninth of 14 in handicap at Thirsk (7f, good) 15 days ago.

Verdict

VISCOUNT LOFTUS won well at Musselburgh earlier this month and, having only been handed a 6lb rise for that three-length triumph, he's entitled to follow up from a useful draw in stall four. Redgrave is another recent winner who merits respect, while Vive La Difference is a model of consistency and could still be well treated off 84. C&D winner Penwortham is another to keep an eye on.

Verdict

REDGRAVE looked better than ever on just his third start for Joseph Tuite when capitalising on his reduced mark at Kempton 7 days ago and, from a 2 lb higher mark, he is fancied to go well again back on turf. Penwortham and Mickey both arrive on the back of good efforts and rate next best, ahead of Mr Top Hat.

Verdict

DARK DEVIL has performed with credit over course and distance the last twice and, allowed to race off the same mark as when third here latest, he makes plenty of appeal in first-time cheekpieces. Stablemate Carnageo is considered on ground which should suit, while Instant Attraction is interesting stepping up in trip following his latest Ripon third. C&D scorer Al Destoor can also make his presence felt.

Verdict

AL DESTOOR hasn't threatened during a light campaign, yet the handicapper has taken note (now 4 lb below his last winning mark) and he could well be worth chancing to capitalise back at the scene of his last success. Knight Destroyer, Dark Devil and Carnageo are a trio of others fancied to feature.
