Twice-raced maiden. 7/1, fifth of 7 in minor event at Lingfield (6f, good to soft) 16 days ago.

Verdict

LOOK OUT LOUIS was fourth to subsequent Woodcote hero Cosmic Law before scoring at Hamilton and his prominent way of racing is a big positive here, with stall one another bonus to his chances. Marie's Diamond can be excused his effort at Epsom and is a solid threat along with the likes of Dark Thunder, third in the Lily Agnes over 5f here, and Gabrial The Wire, who was no match for Vange over C&D when second.

Verdict

MARIE'S DIAMOND showed up a lot better than the end result implies in the Woodcote at Epsom a fortnight ago and he's the one to beat on earlier form. Look Out Louis and Gabrial The Wire have landed the inside stalls and as a consequence, are feared most.

Fair form in a couple of runs in France and improved on yard debut when 5.5 lengths fifth of 10 over 10f here last month. Handicap debut effort over C&D was rather laboured latest, though.

Verdict

ISTANBUL SULTAN has improved with each start this season and shaped on his latest appearance at Wetherby as though the step up to 1m4f would be right up his street. Austrian School needed every yard of the trip to win over C&D two starts ago but will find things tougher off 8lb higher so the main dangers could prove to be Shuhood, who wears a first-time hood after a good effort at Epsom, and Berkshire Royal.

Verdict

ISTANBUL SULTAN, despite meeting with defeat improved on his reappearance effort when second at Wetherby last month, losing little caste in defeat behind another improver. This longer trip is well worth exploring on that evidence and he can come out on top with further progress in the offing. Austrian School is a typical improving 3-y-o for Mark Johnston who can feature again, along with Shuhood.

Possibly working her way back to full fitness, but her strike rate tempers enthusiasm and she's 6 lb out of the weights.

Verdict

ISLAND CLOUD has been a model of consistency throughout 2018 having finished in the first three on all her starts, and she is taken to defy a career-high mark of 80. Lady In Question is another with solid form this season and Connor Murtagh takes a handy 5lb off her back, while Ce La Vie can bounce back after a below-par effort at Redcar last time.

Verdict

There are risks associated with backing HIGHLAND PASS on account of her attitude, but she figures on a very tempting mark in a refitted hood, so she's worth risking back at the scene of her sole success. Island Cloud and Lady In Question are solid alternatives.

Beaten a long way on all 3 outings this year and can only be watched.

Verdict

FOOL FOR YOU wasn't disgraced on her handicap debut at York when seventh to Koditime last month, and that experience should stand her in good stead. She also has a good draw to take advantage of. Gold Filigree shaped here last time as though a return to 5f would suit and she warrants a place on the shortlist along with Midsummer Knight, who has proven to be very consistent of late.

Verdict

There's likely more to come from FOOL FOR YOU who can make the most of a good draw against the rail. This track should suit the front-running Midsummer Knight and he can make a bold bid under Hayley Turner, while Gold Filigree shouldn't be posed any problems by the drop back to 5f and also merits respect.

Of no account and easy to oppose.

Verdict

MIKMAK has returned this year looking as well as ever and he warrants plenty of respect just 2lb higher than when scoring in determined fashion at Ripon. Zihaam was beaten at York on Friday but bolted up at Carlisle before that and has claims if bouncing back to that sort of form. Beverley scorer Hats Off To Larry and the lightly-raced Valdizar make up the shortlist.

Verdict

MIKMAK has returned with fresh enthusiasm for his new yard in 2018 and having got off the mark for them at Ripon last time he still has plenty of handicapping scope based on old form, so he's a confident selection to take this at the expense of last-time-out winner Zihaam, with Andok lurking as a danger despite a poor season to date.

Won at Catterick in May and continued his good recent spell with an excellent second from out of the weights there last time, so certainly one to consider from stall 2.

Verdict

Right from the foot of the weights, it might pay to side with SPIRIT OF WEDZA. Recent win and placed efforts at Catterick show him to be arriving in top form and Jamie Gormley should be able to bag a handy early position coming from stall two. Gabrial The Tiger is just 1lb higher than when winning here in September and he merits consideration, with Casterbridge, Rene Mathis and Zac Brown others to note.
