Verdict

HOLMESWOOD has dropped 1lb lower than when landing a competitive sprint at York last season and hinted his winning return was approaching again when flashing home for third at the same venue during the Ebor meeting last month. Encrypted appeared to win a shade cosily over this trip at Chelmsford last time and is worthy of shortlist inclusion, as are Great St Wilfrid runner-up Dakota Gold, consistent three-year-old Roundhay Park and Windsor Sprint Series Final winner Udontdodou. A new headgear combination could assist Open Wide, who also has Andrea Atzeni booked.

Verdict

Things didn't go DAKOTA GOLD's way in the Thirsk handicap won by Muscika and, with a strong pace guaranteed here, he is taken to strike. Stablemate Holmeswood has also slipped to an attractive mark and looks a big threat with Silvestre De Sousa again in the hot-seat, having finished third under the champion jockey at York last time. Dougan should be on the premises and Open Wide also has claims.

Group 1 winner In France at 2 but has been below par in 3 outings this season. Should stay this far.

Verdict

Sir Michael Stoute representative MUSTASHRY was beaten just half a length by Lord Glitters in the Strensall Stakes three weeks ago and is expected to remain competitive now stepped up to Group 2 company. D'bai will appreciate the step back up to 7f and is the one expected to put up most resistance. Big runs could be on the cards from C&D winner Oh This Is Us and Breton Rock, who landed this contest two years ago.

Verdict

This looks an open renewal of this Group 2, but preference is for MUSTASHRY, who was supplemented for this race on Monday and has the best form on offer. Admittedly, none of that form has come over 7f, but he has shown enough speed at times to suggest he would have no problem dropping back in trip. The consistent pair Oh This Is Us and Breton Rock (2016 winner) have each-way appeal.

All the rage before hacking up on 1m Sandown debut last month and confirmed he's a colt of huge potential when pulling 4 lengths clear in Solario there (7f) 23 days later. Can't oppose.

Verdict

TOO DARN HOT confirmed the promise that he displayed when making a winning debut at Sandown by taking the Group 3 Solario Stakes at the same venue a few weeks later. On that occasion he was four lengths ahead of the Chesham winner Arthur Kitt, while he beat Confiding with more ease than Dark Vision did in the Vintage. Based on that performance the son of Dubawi is very hard to oppose this afternoon. The aforementioned Dark Vision is the main threat but needs to take another step forward to beat the selection. The form of Phoenix Of Spain's Acomb victory has not worked out that well and that has to be a concern. Bye Bye Hong Kong was an impressive winner of a novice race at Windsor last time out and he remains open to further improvement.

Verdict

TOO DARN HOT was deeply impressive in the Solario 2 weeks ago and it's hard to see past him if turning up in similar form, particularly as Vintage winner Dark Vision has to concede him 3 lb. Phoenix of Spain did it well in the Acomb at York's Ebor meeting and is another who should have a say in what looks a very strong renewal of this Group 2.

Has improved in leaps and bounds and made it 4 wins in her last 5 starts in the March Stakes at Goodwood over 1¾m recently. Supplemented and could be set for a big run.

Verdict

LAH TI DAR put in a stunning performance to win the Listed Galtres Stakes at York by 10 lengths last month and she looks to be right out of the top drawer based on that evidence. The daughter of Dubawi obviously faces a tougher test today but her dam managed to beat the males at the highest level and she can do the same here. Kew Gardens went to the top of the ante-post markets for this race when beating Southern France and Nelson in the Queen's Vase at Royal Ascot. He was subsequently successful in the Group 1 Grand Prix de Paris but he has ground to find with Old Persian, who had previously won the King Edward VII, based on their meeting in the Great Voltigeur at York. Aidan O'Brien's colt is 2lb better off at these weights but that may not be enough to reverse the form. Loxley has progressed throughout 2018 but does have stamina to prove. Dee Ex Bee filled second spot in the Derby back in June and it wouldn't be the biggest surprise to see him pick up another Classic placing.

Verdict

LAH TI DAR looked top class when turning a listed race into a procession at York last month and she can keep her unbeaten record intact and give John Gosden a fourth win in 12 years in the final British Classic. Kew Gardens ran a big race under his Group 1-penalty behind Old Persian in the Voltigeur when left with plenty to do and has obvious claims. Loxley is preferred of the Godolphin pair.

Winner at Salisbury in April and by no means disgraced the last twice in handicaps, but is on a mark that demands more and has stamina to prove.

Verdict

INDIAN VICEROY steps up to a mile as he looks to land a hat-trick after two easy victories in novice affairs which sees him as the one to beat here. It is interesting that Richard Hannon gives the leg up to course specialist Andrea Atzeni aboard Leroy Leroy, who has knocked on the door on three of his four outings so far, while stablemate Big Baby Bull has to be respected. Sandown winner Rajinsky is also considered as he steps up to a mile for the second time.

Verdict

INDIAN VICEROY's confidence should be flying high following back-to-back victories and he could be up to completing the hat-trick returning to a nursery with this step up in trip likely to suit. Rajinsky's opening mark could prove a lenient one and he is feared most ahead of the consistent Leroy Leroy.

Has had a busy year but has won 4 times and wasn't beaten far over further here on Thursday. No surprise to see him turned out again quickly and give a good account.

Verdict

All-the-way Britannia Stakes winner OSTILIO narrowly missed out on the hat-trick when second in a Group 3 at Goodwood, and if repeating his impressive form from this season back in the handicap ranks, he shouldn't be too far away at the finish. Similar sentiments also apply to Whisky Baron, who went close at Pattern level on his first start for William Haggas on the Sussex Downs and was a prolific winner when racing in South Africa. Fire Brigade is a consistent performer who should be capable of making the podium but could struggle to pass the aforementioned duo.

Verdict

OSTILIO's impressive Britannia win is still fresh in the mind, and given he improved again despite meeting with defeat in a Group 3 at Goodwood last time, he looks the way to go making just his eighth start. None of the five can be ruled out though, with former Lincoln-winner Bravery one to note in particular having not been seen to best effect at York on the back of an encouraging run at Redcar.

Won maiden here early last season, and having been seen just once after (off 16 months), made a successful return in Newmarket handicap over this sort of trip. No doubt open to further improvement.

Verdict

DUBAWI PRINCE, once a 725,000 guineas purchase, returned from over a year off the track to score in fairly impressive style at Newmarket last month and should be more than capable of handling the 7lb rise he has received for that victory. The lightly raced Dubawi colt has a course success already to his name and the month's rest since his August triumph should limit the effect of any potential bounce factor. Byron Flyer often runs with credit and is interesting dropping back in trip, while Star Of The East would have a chance if not finding this trip a little on the sharp side.

Verdict

DUBAWI PRINCE is just the type to reward his trainer's typically patient approach and can strike again if coming on from his impressive reappearance win at Newmarket last month. Royal Reserve could be the one for the forecast.
