Bit below form fifth of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (10.2f, 6/1) 18 days ago, unsuited by drop in trip. Operating from 3 lb out the weights here.

Verdict

INGLEBY HOLLOW has been raised 4lb for scoring over 1m6f at Wetherby earlier in the month and is expected to remain competitive, despite this slight drop in trip. Newcastle scorer Weather Front steps up from 1m2f after keeping on well last time and has place claims, while big runs from recent Catterick distance second Snookered and consistent all-weather performer Star Ascending would also come as no surprise.

Verdict

INGLEBY HOLLOW surpassed anything he achieved last year and was deserving of extra credit for coming from right out the back to score over further at Wetherby 2 weeks ago. The ease in trip will hold no fears and he is fancied to make a bold follow-up bid from a 4 lb higher mark. My Fantasea has been rejuvenated by a yard switch and he, along with King's Coinage and Swansway head the dangers.

Verdict

VICTORY COMMAND shaped with an abundance of promise when third over this trip on debut at Thirsk and is entitled to come on appreciably for the run. Arcadian Rocks wasn't disgraced when fourth over this trip at Chester nine days ago and appears to have place possibilities, while big runs from Richard Fahey's Aurag and Charlie Hills inmate Hawayel on their racecourse debuts would also come as no surprise.

Verdict

ARCADIAN ROCKS didn't make the leap that was perhaps expected of him on second start at Chester last week, but that race didn't go to plan and he is very much the type to do better as he gains experience. Victory Command's debut was promising, while Aurag is perhaps the pick of the newcomers.

Wolverhampton maiden winner who struggled back in handicap company last time. Has a bit to find.

Verdict

EXTRA MILE made all to win over this trip at Newcastle in April and a 5lb rise is unlikely to prevent her from running another big race now she switches back to turf. Crimson Rosette is entitled to come on for her comeback effort at Yarmouth and improve for the fitting of a first-time tongue-tie. White Chocolate is entitled to step up on her reappearance outing at Brighton and is another for the shortlist.

Verdict

EXTRA MILE has returned in fine form this year, making it 2 wins from as many starts at Newcastle last month, and she appeals as the type to go on progressing for a good deal longer yet. Crimson Rosette and Appointed are feared most in a tight little heat.

Career best when winning 10-runner handicap at Thirsk (8f, good to soft, 7/2) 19 days ago. Not taken lightly in hat-trick bid for all this is a lot deeper.

Verdict

QAROUN signed off last season with a 7f maiden victory at Newbury and made a winning return over the same trip in a novice contest at Goodwood two weeks ago. Further improvement could be on the cards now he's stepped up in trip on his handicap bow. Maverick Officer could be reasonably treated on his handicap debut and is worth a market check, while Richard Fahey's thriving hat-trick seeker Odds On Oli is no forlorn hope for a place.

Verdict

There's substance to MAVERICK OFFICER's minor win at Lingfield in December and he's the type to flourish at 3 yrs, so his opening mark looks to underestimate him up in trip. Conversely, Qaroun looks to have been allotted a stiff rating but he's open to plenty of progress, while Odds On Oli is fit and in form.

Verdict

GIANT'S TREASURE won a Wolverhampton maiden in March last year in impressive fashion and whatever kept the son of Shamardal off the track after that victory cannot have been too bad because these connections paid 60,000gns for him back in February. Equilateral and Two Weeks have to be respected given that they are also proven winners, while Foxtrot Lady was Listed-placed as a juvenile and is another to make the shortlist.

Verdict

GIANT'S TREASURE has an absence to overcome, but he looked a really nice prospect when storming clear on his sole outing last year, and there should be plenty more to come from him starting out for David O'Meara. Foxtrot Lady seems sure to make another bold bid, while Miracle Works is worth another chance given his highly promising debut.

Lightly-raced maiden. Ninth of 10 in handicap at Kempton (6f, 13/2) 36 days ago.

Verdict

Roger Varian has a fine record at Doncaster, operating at a 25% strike-rate in the past five seasons, and he looks to have an interesting contender here in the shape of MONADEE. He had a wind operation after his latest start at Kempton in December and he should make up into a better three-year-old. Mutafarrid was a good winner at Yarmouth on his most recent outing and has since been gelded, while Vj Day could benefit from a return to 7f.

Verdict

VJ DAY hasn't matched up to early expectations, but he was fourth in a stronger handicap than this at Newmarket a fortnight ago and he could well be ready to double his tally back over 7f. Monadee took the scalp of Breathless Times when last seen in December and he will doubtless be popular, with Mutafarrid completing the shortlist.
