Showed first form when 6 lengths second on Towcester handicap debut (21f, heavy) in April but nowhere near that level at Uttoxeter the following month.

Verdict

TOP DECISION was disappointing on his handicap debut at Worcester back in September when stopping quickly and pulled up after the fifth flight. He appears to have an excuse with the son of Beneficial having had a wind operation and a tongue-tie is applied to also eke out potential improvement. Get Wishing has posted two solid efforts this campaign and is likely to pose a solid threat once again, while Ice Konig can benefit from a set of blinkers being applied for the first time.

Verdict

GETWISHING made hard work of grabbing a place on his most recent outing, so this longer trip rates a plus on that evidence and, eased in grade also, he ought to be competitive. Veteran Scales has gone well fresh in the past and he is feared, ahead of Kalarika. Top Decision demands close market scrutiny of the remainder.

Made a winning return in game style at Ffos Las (23.9f) in October and upped his game further when close second here (21.6f) since. Visor on and must be taken seriously from the same mark.

Verdict

VANGO DE VAIGE got off the mark on his latest start when proving too strong for the reopposing Tea Time Fred over C&D 12 days ago and, despite carrying a 7lb penalty, he is expected to uphold the form. His form last season can be forgiven with the yard under a cloud for the majority of the campaign and he could easily kick on from that success. Bellamy's Grey is of interest running over 2m7f for the first time under Rules, while In The Pipeline makes some appeal going up in trip.

Verdict

GONNABEGOOD improved again when a close second here 12 days ago and looks well treated off the same mark for all that this is a better race. He gets the nod, with old rivals Vango de Vaige and Tea Time Fred heading the list of dangers.

Verdict

REMASTERED made a big impression on his hurdling debut for David Pipe at Ffos Las when striding clear of some decent rivals, including the well-regarded Good Boy Bobby, and he looks the type to prove more than capable of defying a penalty before being aimed at bigger targets later on in the season. Tedham has shown good promise on both his hurdling starts to date behind two useful individuals in Al Dancer at Carlisle and The Big Bite at Chepstow. He is respected along with Come On Teddy, second in his sole bumper here, Hereford bumper winner Apres Le Deluge and Samarquand, who has shown plenty of ability in both his starts to date but is likely to be better suited by longer trips.

Verdict

Some very exciting novices here, with SAMARQUAND taken to make it 2 from 2 in this sphere having made a good impression at Ludlow despite obvious greenness. He drops in trip, as does Getaway Trump, who was a comfortable winner at Plumpton. Remastered looks another good prospect on the back of victory at Ffos Las.

Verdict

SIRUH DU LAC won well on his return to action at Newbury in the style of a horse firmly on the upgrade and a 6lb rise from the handicapper shouldn't prove enough to stop Nick Williams' gelding. Molineaux appeals as one to improve from his first outing of the season at Sandown and can prove very competitive despite lacking experience over fences, while similar comments apply to Dr Des who finished very tired after his chase debut at Market Rasen behind Dynamite Dollars.

Verdict

MOLINEAUX went through his chasing debut in the manner of one who will find plenty of improvement in this sphere, jumping soundly and typically travelling powerfully so, now fully tuned up, he can put in a bold bid to land what has the potential to prove a very strong handicap chase. Awake At Midnight is a big threat bidding for the hat-trick, while his stablemate Show On The Road makes appeal.

Verdict

A deep contest on paper which sees the Ballymore second and Aintree Grade 1 winner, Black Op, make his eagerly awaited chasing debut. Tom George's gelding amassed a very high level of form last season against the likes of Santini, Samcro and Lostintranslation, but his hurdling was far from fluent on occasions and he will need to improve in the jumping department to make into a high-class chaser. He also faces a tough task with the likes of Coral Cup runner-up Topofthegame and WHITE MOON in opposition. Preference is for Colin Tizzard's grey as he made a satisfactory start to his chasing career at Cheltenham, when proving unlucky in coming down at the final fence having been squeezed for room, and can only improve from that experience. Topofthegame brings a good level of form to the table and will prove an obvious threat if his jumping holds up having fallen on his sole chasing start at Newbury last November.

Verdict

A really intriguing affair with the narrow vote in favour of BLACK OP. Every inch a chaser on looks, he signed off last term with victory in an Aintree Grade 1 and is expected to make his mark under this code. This is a race containing plenty of depth though, with Topofthegame and White Moon expected to give the selection plenty to think about.

Seems to have completely lost his form, though last year was the third winner for yard in this in the decade (off this mark) on the back of a fall on his return.

Verdict

GARRANE has shaped for a while as though a stamina test of this nature would bring out the best in him and his two outings over fences so far at Chepstow have both offered encouragement. The latter occasion saw him bump into a well-handicapped rival and he can make it third time lucky over the larger obstacles. Firebird Flyer stays all day and showed signs of a return to form when runner-up over an inadequate 3m1f at Hereford nine days ago, while Crank Em Up's second over 4m at Hexham gives him solid claims.

Verdict

THE TWO AMIGOS is a staying chaser on the up and can make his first go outside of novice company a winning one. Malapie was successful on his only other previous start over fences and seems sure to relish this test. Garrane looks a sure-fire winner in this sphere after 2 fine runs at Chepstow.
