Belatedly shed maiden tag at Clonmel (19.4f) in May. However, merely added to patchy record subsequently and not looked like a winner in waiting under either code for new yard of late.

Verdict

Olly Murphy has farmed races at this track of late and he has another live chance here with HURRICANE RITA, who was a handy winner over course and distance last time and has just an extra 4lb to carry here. Hollywood All Star remains well treated despite struggling of late and cheekpieces could help here, while the consistent pair, Akula and Yasir are others of note.

Verdict

HURRICANE RITA quickly put behind her a blip and looked better than ever when landing a C&D handicap 25 days ago and she should prove a tough nut to crack at this level. Akula is proving consistent and should be thereabouts, with Beyeh also making some each-way appeal.

Some promise over fences last summer and snapped long losing run over hurdles at Wincanton (15.3f) in October. Hike in weights caught her out thereafter and back from a break here.

Verdict

A contest not blessed with the best of jumpers, with Nicky Henderson's RATHER BE looking to get his chasing career back on track having unshipped Jerry McGrath at Plumpton last time. He remains a chaser of serious potential and a clear round here can see Cheltenham back on the agenda. Positively Dylan has a Wetherby victory sandwiched between two falls and can test the selection if at his best, while the mare Ivor's Queen can't be dismissed in receipt of weight on her chasing debut.

Verdict

RATHER BE was most impressive when scoring on chase debut at Taunton in December and he is fancied to put behind him a subsequent Plumpton blip and resume winning ways. Positively Dylan got no further than the second at Haydock on his most recent outing but comfortably rates the chief threat in any case.

Hinted at ability in bumpers and both starts over hurdles. Good pedigree and likely to do better in handicaps.

Verdict

The exciting novice WHISKEY IN THE JAR got back on the right track when routing the opposition at Uttoxeter last time and the promising son of Oscar should be following up here if he is to live up to his connections' lofty expectations. Dashing Perk somewhat disappointed when well fancied in some quarters for a Sandown handicap but it would be no surprise to see him bounce back now back amongst his fellow novices, while soft ground may not inconvenience Strawberry Spirit as much as the slog in heavy going did here last time and a first-time tongue-tie can help.

Verdict

WHISKEY IN THE JAR got his career back on track with an all-the-way win at Uttoxeter last month, and with further progress likely, he should prove hard to beat. Dashing Perk is respected returning to novice company, while Aptly Put is a likely improver.

Consistent sort who got back on the scoreboard at Warwick (20f) in November. Creditable efforts in defeat since and should make his presence felt once more.

Verdict

JARLATH can take full advantage of his position at the foot of the weights in this select handicap and, under a 5lb claimer, might not need to improve much on his latest Fontwell effort now upped in distance. Like the selection, Princeton Royale wouldn't be winning out of turn judged on his recent performances both here and at Huntingdon, while chances are also given to Flaming Charmer and Twenty Eight Guns.

Verdict

In a tricky-looking contest, the vote goes to FLAMING CHARMER, who has been contesting stronger contests than this of late and will appreciate the return to this longer trip. Twenty Eight Guns is back down to her last winning mark and rates the main danger.

Modest winner on Flat but of little account over hurdles/fences.

Verdict

CALIPSO COLLONGES bolted up on his first start for Olly Murphy at Uttoxeter last week (Sackett pulled up) and he should follow up under a 7lb penalty barring accidents. Handicap debutant Drumlee City has shown glimpses of promise and is likely to be closest on hand to take advantage were the selection to slip up, while Sackett can beat Monzino, who runs from 21lb out of the handicap, into third.

Verdict

CALIPSO COLLONGES should take some stopping under a penalty after an emphatic win at Uttoxeter last week. Drumlee City is pick of the remainder.

Pulled up on only start under Rules in May and hasn't been in the best of form in points this winter.

Verdict

PREMIER PORTRAIT had some useful performers behind, including subsequent winner Unioniste, when scoring gamely at Taunton and he will prove difficult to beat with a repeat display. Foxcub arrives on the back of two placed efforts between the flags and warrants plenty of respect on his debut in this sphere, while Pride Of Parish, who has had a wind operation since he was last sighted, also merits consideration.

Verdict

FOXCUB was a useful chaser at one time and he looks the most solid option after two good efforts in points recently. Premier Portrait may prove the biggest threat, but isn't sure to be in the same form as last time.

Verdict

Melekhov is sure to prove popular following his debut second at Ludlow and rightly so, but ARCH MY BOY shades the verdict with that extra run under his belt. The four-year-old built on his introductory eighth in a Cheltenham Listed event when third at Huntingdon and, open to further improvement, he looks sure to go close under Tom Scudamore. Imperial Knight and Sirobbie make most appeal of the newcomers.

Verdict

MELEKHOV posted fairly-useful form when runner-up in a Ludlow bumper on his racecourse bow last month and is taken to get off the mark in the finale. Arch My Boy looks the principal danger, of those with form, whilst Imperial Knight may be the pick of the newcomers.
