Latest win at Salisbury in May. 9/1, last of 11 in handicap at Chepstow (6.1f, good to firm) 6 days ago. Capable of a good account off this mark but others preferred all the same.

Verdict

SWEET PURSUIT has won well here the last twice and despite a further 5lb rise, is backed to land a quick-fire C&D hat-trick. Molls Memory has improved with every run and is interesting now dropping in trip, with Charles Hills' filly Tafawoq showing promise over 7f last time. Hugo Palmer's Temeraire enters calculations on the best of her form as her mark continues to drop.

Verdict

SWEET PURSUIT made it 2-2 over this C&D 12 days ago and a 5 lb rise looks fair given that she seemingly won with a bit in hand. With further progress possibile, she is taken to complete the hat-trick. The ground was testing when Incentive opened her account here last year and the recent rain will certainly aid her cause. She is feared most ahead of Temeraire.

Verdict

HOT TEAM built on his encouraging York second with a win at Newbury last week and having won with a bit in hand that day, he can make it a quick-fire double here. Leroy Leroy showed improvement when knocking on the door up in trip at Sandown last time and should have more to come representing a top team, while Majestic Mac is another who seemed to appreciate the step up in distance when fourth at Epsom earlier this month.

Verdict

LEROY LEROY chased home a potentially very useful Godolphin colt at Sandown recently and, providing the forecast slower ground here doesn't pose a problem, he has a good chance to make it third time lucky. Hot Team, already proven on soft ground and fresh from his victory at Newbury last week, is an obvious threat, while newcomer Brawny needs a second look in the betting.

Thrice-raced maiden. 33/1, eighth of 9 in minor event at Lingfield (7f, firm) 20 days ago. Back down in trip and readily passed over on this nursery debut.

Verdict

ELSAABIQAAT produced a career best when dropped to 6f at Salisbury last time and having travelled strongly throughout the race, the step back to five furlongs here could help the Invincible Spirit filly go one better than that narrow second. Nottingham second Tizwotitiz was slightly disappointing at Chepstow last time but could easily bounce back on a sounder surface, while Across The Sea was only beaten around three lengths by a subsequent Group 2 winner on debut and, despite struggling since, could be dangerous from a mark of 69 here.

Verdict

Dropping to the minimum trip should be very much in ELSAABIQAAT's favour and she is taken to make a winning nursery debut, providing conditions do not inconvenience her. Across The Sea possesses potential and needs considering but she left the impression that this trip is plenty sharp enough at Windsor last time. Glorious Charmer is most interesting of the remainder.

Verdict

DINSDALE appeared not to get home over 2m in what was a strong race for the grade at Nottingham behind the progressive Bailarico, but the drop back to 1m4f and the application of first-time blinkers could see him back to winning ways. Time To Sea won here when last seen at the end of May and connections seem to have bided their time waiting for softer conditions to materialise, while Honourbound looks relatively unexposed having placed on his first attempt at 1m4f at Lingfield last month.

Verdict

The vote goes to HONOURBOUND, who has taken steps forward with each of his 2 starts in handicaps, again staying on well after being left with plenty to do at Lingfield recently. The winner franked that form when following up in good style at Newbury last week and this stiffer track should help Marcus Tregoning's charge. Duration should have a part to play and Katabatika also merits respect.

Verdict

FORMULA ONE showed a fair amount of promise when runner-up on debut behind a more experienced rival at Newcastle over 1m2f and this well-bred son of Frankel, out of Prix de l'Abbaye winner Wizz Kid, is likely to benefit from a step up in distance. Guild won at Bath on firm ground when sent off odds-on and is related to soft ground performers which gives hope about him handling the ground, while Lissitzky is an interesting newcomer from a yard that have been in excellent form over the last couple of days.

Verdict

GUILD and Formula One are both very promising indeed, and while the latter isn't passed over at all lightly following his eye-catching debut at Newcastle 3 weeks ago, preference is for the former. Having shaped well on his Newmarket debut, Roger Charlton's colt duly landed the odds at Bath next time and should go on to better things in due course. Carnwennan is best of the rest.

Verdict

SHARJA SILK failed to justify favouritism when competing against his own age group over a similar trip at Doncaster last time but is a potential improver now taking on older horses in receipt of a weight-for-age allowance. Hawridge Flyer could feasibly step up on his latest effort at Newbury now granted a stiffer test of stamina and dropped in grade, while Garbanzo commands plenty of respect on the back of his 1m4f romp at Doncaster, although he now has a 7lb rise to contend with.

Verdict

The consistent HAWRIDGE FLYER gets the nod following a string of solid efforts in defeat. Conditions here will be in his favour and the 4-y-o is marginally preferred to Sharja Silk, who remains a maiden but ought to pick up a race before long. Rolling Maul isn't one to set your watch by but will be a danger to all if on-song and Nabhan is also capable of taking a hand in the finish.

Verdict

AIR OF YORK has been knocking hard on the door in recent starts and was thwarted by just a neck off this mark at Chepstow on his penultimate outing. John Flint's six-year-old wouldn't need to find a great deal of improvement in order to get back on the winning trail. The Groove has slipped to a good mark and is expected to step up on a solid third on debut for David Evans at Chepstow, while the unexposed Bidding War may emerge as the pick of the three-year-olds.

Verdict

MANKIND failed to fire at Newmarket last time but appeared to be getting the hang of things prior to that, performing with credit in a couple of 1m Windsor handicaps. Assuming he handles conditions here, he will have every chance of making his debut for Archie Watson a winning one. Air of York is holding his form well this season and is a much-respected main danger. The Groove is best of the rest.
