Thrice-raced maiden. 150/1, last of 8 in minor event at Wolverhampton (6.1f). Off 102 day. Yet to hint at ability. Makes handicap bow.

Verdict

VALENTINO SUNRISE was an impressive winner over 5f here on Thursday and he will be hard to beat this afternoon based on that evidence, despite a 6lb penalty. Chitra is another proven winner, having been successful at Kempton earlier in the month, and she is an obvious threat to the selection, while Valley Belle and Tatsia are others to consider.

Verdict

VALENTINO SUNRISE showed improved form when winning over the minimum trip here 3 days ago, and another bold bid is anticipated under a penalty. There could be more to come from last-time-out scorer Chitra, while Eye of The Water is another to keep a close eye on from a basement mark.

Verdict

Knightshayes has to be respected following her winning debut at Lingfield last month, while Aspire Tower is another with good form to his name. That said, a chance can be taken with CRASTER, who is out of a Listed-winning dam and he also shares his page with the Group 1 winner One So Wonderful. Ned Mackay and Nivaldo are other newcomers who should be monitored in the betting market.

Verdict

Those with experience don't set a particularly high standard, so it could be worth chancing a newcomer, with NIVALDO perhaps the pick before market clues. Aspire Tower, Knightshayes and Havana Rocket should all put their experience to good use.

Verdict

GARTH ROCKETT was far from disgraced over this trip when third in 0-80 company at Yarmouth last time and is a likely improver now eased into this 0-65 off the same mark. Irish raider New Identity is only 3lb higher than when striking at Killarney last month and is worth a market check, while a big run could also be on the cards from N Over J, who picked up the silver medal over this trip off 1lb lower at Kempton on his penultimate outing.

Verdict

GARTH ROCKETT posted another sound effort when third in a stronger handicap than this at Yarmouth last month and makes plenty of appeal from the same mark. N Over J would have finished closer at Epsom last time with a trouble-free passage and is feared most, though Irish raider New Identity is interesting, too.

4/1, creditable third of 16 in handicap at Chepstow (8.1f, good) 31 days ago, sticking to task having chased a strong pace. 1 lb wrong but she's of interest.

Verdict

MAGGIE JONKS opened her account over C&D last month and with the second and third-placed runners from that contest winning since to boost the form, a big run is expected from Andrew Balding's three-year-old. So Hoity Toity has been raised 3lb for winning over this trip at Chepstow last month but could have further improvement to come in retained cheekpieces. Geranium and Jazzy Girl are others to consider in an open-looking heat.

Verdict

MAGGIE JONKS overcame a tardy start when getting off the mark in a C&D handicap a month ago (race worked out well) and with a good-value claimer booked, is taken to follow up. This looks a reasonable race for the grade though, with Geranium and Jazzy Girl feared most.

Thrice-raced maiden. First run since leaving W. McCreery when second of 8 in minor event (10/1) at Hamilton (9.2f, good to soft) 26 days ago, no match for winner. Makes handicap debut. Should improve.

Verdict

FANNIE BY GASLIGHT thrived with give in the ground when scoring by eight lengths last time, to notch up a second win in three starts, and with apprentice Scott McCullagh removing the majority of the 8lb rise handed by the assessor with his claim, she looks set for another big performance. All-weather specialist Jedhi is interesting back at 10-furlongs having scored over 1m4f last time, while Solar Echo has some smart form to his name and shouldn't be too far away either.

Verdict

SOLAR ECHO, a winner at Sandown in August, again shaped well when third at Newmarket 23 days ago, faring best of those held up. She remains with potential firmly intact and can regain the winning thread. Jedhi, arriving on the back of an AW victory and handicap debutante Debatable, rate the likeliest threats.

Cheekpieces on for 1st time, career best when winning 8-runner handicap (15/8) at this course (14f, good to firm) 11 days ago, having benefit of enterprising ride. Should go well again.

Verdict

ALTRA VITA bumped into a useful pair of rivals when third on his first try over two miles and, having won cosily over 1m6f here last time, she is backed to prove tough to pass once again having won four of her five starts so far this season. Polish was far too keen at York in what was a hot renewal of the Melrose Handicap and he could have more to come over staying distances, while Gang Warfare's Chepstow victory has to be respected.

Verdict

For all he has yet to make a significant impact in handicaps, POLISH remains with a good deal of potential intact, not least on the back of impressions he created earlier this term. The return to calmer waters should help and he gets the narrow vote. Altra Vita and Gang Warfare are feared most, in that order.

Verdict

HOWARDIAN HILLS got back to winning ways at Kempton earlier in the month, having shaped well the time before at Wolverhampton, and he now returns to turf looking fairly treated if able to replicate those all-weather performances. Safarhi is likely to be suited by a more galloping track compared to Wolverhampton on his latest start when beaten at odds-on, while Foresee looks best of the remainder on his Epsom success last time.

Verdict

HOWARDIAN HILLS bumped into a gamble at Wolverhampton before going one better at Kempton, and looks well treated back on turf. Safarhi and Foresee are others to consider.
