Well beaten in bumpers early in 2015 and went with no promise sent hurdling on belated return at Ludlow last month.

Verdict

CHTI BALKO was a ready winner over the distance at Catterick last time out and is a consistent sort for trainer Donald McCain. Potters Story was last seen winning at Ffos Lass and should be the one to fight out the finish with the selection. Fairlee Grey was given no chance last time out, when going off far to hard from the front before falling when well beaten, but enters calculations here if returning to the form of his Ayr victory earlier in the season.

Verdict

POTTERS STORY made a good impression despite being a fortunate winner on the day at Ffos Las and can make it 2 from 2 in this sphere with improvement on the cards. Fairlee Grey is preferred to Chti Balko for the forecast in the hope his Kelso fall hasn't left a mark.

Just second in weak Kelso event in December and showed very little at Catterick since, tailed off when falling 2 out.

Verdict

It could be a case of how many lengths for THE NIPPER who seems a reformed character these days and goes in search of a three-timer here having had a questionable temperament earlier in the season. Dan Skelton's Whatduhavtoget should give her most to think about having been eight lengths adrift of Verdana Blue at Taunton, who acquitted herself well at the Cheltenham Festival last week.

Verdict

A match between THE NIPPER and Whatduhavtoget, with Warren Greatrex's charge narrowly preferred having looked impressive at Newcastle.

Has come good on her last 2 starts, staying on well to win at Towcester and Warwick. Possibly flattered by the winning margin last time as the runner-up wilted late on, but respected under penalty.

Verdict

Spanish Fleet and Wolf Sword continue to hold their form well in defeat and should be thereabouts, though preferred ahead of both is recent Warwick scorer BUTTERCUP, who dotted up by 18 lengths 10 days ago and looks well ahead of the handicapper now turned out swiftly under a penalty. Clan Legend steps up in trip after striking off 2lb lower over 2m1f at Kelso last time and is considered the pick of the remainder.

Verdict

A very tight contest can go the way of CLAN LEGEND, who bounced right back to form in a first-time tongue tie at Kelso from a 2 lb lower mark, and whose yard is in very good form at present. Buttercup has won her last 2 and should be involved again, while the consistent Wolf Sword should be in the mix once more too.

Fairly useful winner at 25f over hurdles for Rebecca Curtis in 2015 but lightly raced and well below form in 5 outings (including over fences) for current yard.

Verdict

Robin Of Locksley makes plenty of appeal now turned out under a penalty for his 35-length romp at Warwick last time and looks an obvious starting point, though narrow preference is for SAMMY B, who backed up his 3m Musselburgh victory when going in again at Kelso last time and appears to be on a sharp upward curve at the moment. The Wallace Line drops back in trip after rattling the crossbar at Warwick last month and could also finish on the premises.

Verdict

ROBIN OF LOCKSLEY was well prepared by his new yard to emphatically land a gamble at Warwick 10 days ago and he looks a fair way ahead of the assessor turned out under a penalty. Future Gilded has a lower hurdles mark to work with despite having no exposure to timber in Britain, so is feared most.

Hurdles winner but efforts have been rather laboured on AW/over timber in recent starts and easy to oppose on his belated return to fences.

Verdict

SUNNY LEDGEND arrives here having won in good style on his latest start at Leicester when beating Powerful Symbol by 10 lengths and is likely to be competitive once again off a 7lb higher mark. As De Fer drops in grade and looks on a fair mark if bouncing back to somewhere near his best, while Purcell's Bridge is capable of better stepped back up in trip after returning from a 15 month absence at Carlisle last month.

Verdict

SAROQUE is attractively weighted nowadays and was beaten only by a thriving rival at Plumpton last time, so is taken to go one better. Sunny Ledgend is next best ahead of As de Fer.

Ballinrobe bumper winner who ran best race to date over hurdles when third at Wetherby (2m) in January. Had no excuses that day and will need to improve again for the longer trip.

Verdict

JOHANOS built on the promise of his first two starts over timber when easily getting off the mark at Carlisle earlier in the month and it seems significant that Danny Cook takes the ride once again on his handicap debut where there could potentially be more improvement to come. Cracking Find has been ridden by Danny Cook on his last couple of starts but has shown his best form on a sounder surface so the main danger appears to be Middlebrow, who ran respectably on handicap debut at Wetherby when third behind El Massivo, while Just So Cool has form on testing ground which is a notable positive in the context of this race.

Verdict

JOHANOS made the most of a good opportunity to score at Carlisle recently, yet he still showed further improvement, and gets the vote with less questions to answer than his rivals. Just So Cool's fitness has to be taken on trust but he handles forecast conditions, so is feared most under Aidan Coleman.
