Verdict

SHADOW SADNESS looked to have every chance at Worcester when falling three from the finish in a contest he was sent off favourite for, and Oliver Greenall's gelding can make amends to supporters now to get off the mark at the third attempt. Icefall has made the podium on all three hurdle outings and can prove a live threat here, while Globetrotter outran his odds when third on his hurdling debut at Perth and should be a lot shorter in the betting this time around.

Verdict

SHADOW SADNESS looked set to go close before suffering a heavy fall 3 out at Worcester last month and he can gain compensation if none the worse. Globetrotter ran well on his recent hurdles bow at Perth and is feared most with improvement likely. Icefall shouldn’t be far away, either.

Seemed to run well when third on C&D chase bow in June but has failed to back that up twice since. First-time visor needs to have a positive effect.

Verdict

Michael Scudamore's veteran SKINT bumped into a runaway winner at Fontwell earlier this month but could easily be the pick of the field here with none of his rivals this time looking up to that level. He notched up two useful victories in the spring and clearly heads into this contest in decent order. Reverse The Charge is 2lb higher than when scoring over course and distance in June and has been held since, with Two Hoots the most interesting of the opposition and still in early days with new handler Joanne Foster.

Verdict

SKINT was no match for a Dan Skelton handicap blot on his reappearance but he should be sharper with that under his belt and is taken to resume winning ways in a race where the majority of his rivals have a bit to prove. Reverse The Charge wasn't at his best last time but could easily bounce back at the scene of his win in June, while Irish raider Ardview Boy is also respected under Brian Hughes.

Disappointed at Sligo last time, but was in good form on British soil prior to that, winning at Perth in June and second at Market Rasen the following month. Could bounce back.

Verdict

The manner in which Tom Lacey's VIVANT romped to success by 14 lengths at Fontwell earlier this month suggests a 7lb rise may not be enough to stop him following up here and landing a quick-fire hat-trick. Musselburgh specialist Jump For Dough is interesting following a period off the track, while Desert Island Dusk was well fancied to make it two from two over course and distance before unseating at the fifth last time and could be popular once again.

Verdict

It's hard to gauge what VIVANT actually achieved last time given all her rivals underperformed, but there's no doubting she's in excellent heart, so another bold bid is anticipated under a penalty. Desert Island Dusk boasts a healthy strike rate at this venue and is feared along with the returning Jump For Dough.

Poor maiden jumper who makes no appeal in this company.

Verdict

Bangor winner KING MURO got himself involved at the business end once again at Worcester when looking to follow up last time and, now stepping up in trip, could be capable of playing a leading role once again off 1lb higher in the ratings. Cartmel second Its Pandorama has a furlong less to contend with racing off the same figure, while River Icon and Rebel Yeats both have the ability to make their presence felt.

Verdict

ITS PANDORAMA has come to chasing relatively late but ran a good race first time up over fences at Cartmel in June and is open to improvement now handicapping. Rebel Yeats could be the big danger with this longer trip sure to suit her.

Verdict

Strong Team has been fairly consistent on his last couple of starts since going up in the weights for a win at Perth in July. He was third at Uttoxeter last time and should be in the mix again off the same mark. Wazowski has been knocking on the door recently and is likely to be competitive once again, but the vote goes to JESSE JUDE. Simon West's gelding appeared to not see out the trip at Market Rasen when last seen over 2m7f and a pair of cheekpieces over the minimum distance may well see the improvement required.

Verdict

STRONG TEAM is building up a solid profile in handicaps and his mark clearly remains a workable one, so he gets the vote. Wazowski is pretty reliable too, while Mac Cennetig warrants a market check on first start back following a breathing operation.

Ended long losing run when taking 11-runner handicap chase here (24.2f, soft) in November, but well held at Doncaster the following month and absent since. Cheekpieces refitted.

Verdict

RISING MARIENBARD doesn't have many miles on the clock and shaped with encouragement on his chase debut over C&D in May when finishing third. Lucinda Russell's gelding looks capable of stepping forward from that effort and can account for Dun Faw Good, a consistent individual who is better than his effort last time, and the 15-year-old See Double You, who has the assistance of Brian Hughes in the saddle.

Verdict

While QUICK BREW's overall profile is hardly compelling, the same is true of the majority of these and a reproduction of his latest effort at Perth would probably suffice. Rising Marienbard will be a threat if building on his chase debut effort and Spinning Scooter is capable of taking a hand in the finish, but Nemean Lion may take time to recover from his crashing fall at Sedgefield 18 days ago.
