Verdict

EPATANTE was a two-time bumper winner in France and looks the type that Nicky Henderson excels with in this sphere. The four-year-old filly receives weight from most of the field and she should know her job on her UK debut. Gaelic Prince unseated his rider 12 months ago when sent off at 7-2 against the likes of Thomas Patrick and Dynamite Dollars and is clearly thought capable of better, while Woulduadamandeveit only found the classy Acey Milan too good when last seen 275 days ago and also merits respect.

Verdict

Nicky Henderson is starting to send out some of his better types and EPATANTE could be another. She won 2 of her 3 outings in bumpers in France and is a highly interesting recruit to hurdling. Woulduadamandeveit and Gaelic Prince are fancied to pose the leading threats.

Already much better over fences, off the mark at the second attempt at Towcester. Excuses next time and should bounce back.

Verdict

Kupatana settled well to score at Aintree in May and clearly acts well on decent ground such as this, while Cap Du Nord was the one to take from the race when second here three weeks ago but has subsequently been raised 4lb as a result. Broken Quest looked progressive for most last season, but this can go the way of RAILROAD JUNKIE, who won a good race at Warwick in September at 25-1 and could be one to follow now that the penny has dropped with him.

Verdict

CAP DU NORD shaped very well when runner-up over C&D 3 weeks ago and should have more to offer now getting the hang of things. Railroad Junkie overcame an early scare to make a winning chase debut at Warwick and is an obvious threat, with Kupatana making most appeal of the chasing newcomers.

Winning Irish pointer who again shaped like a stayer when second in small-field novice at Ludlow (21.2f) 18 days ago.

Verdict

There was no shame in TIDAL FLOW failing to successfully concede a penalty in a bumper at Wincanton in April when last seen, and the five-year-old looks sure to thrive now upped in distance and sent over the sticks for Phillip Hobbs. He should get a more strongly-run race here and Richard Johnson's homebred son of Black Sam Bellamy is fancied to bounce back. Kootenay River won a race between the flags before finishing second twice in bumper company and is respected, while Before Midnight probably would have won but for unseating Nico De Boinville at Chepstow last month.

Verdict

BEFORE MIDNIGHT looked unlucky not to land the odds when unseating his rider 2 out at Chepstow 13 days ago given he was going better than the eventual winner at the time. He's taken to make amends, though Tidal Flow and Kootenay River are interesting rivals.

Fair winning hurdler but needs to improve for the switch to fences.

Verdict

Reigning Supreme proved disappointing once again on his seasonal reappearance at Aintree and time is running out for him to fulfil the promise he showed in his formative years. Preference is for the Grade 2-winning hurdler ENNISCOFFEY OSCAR, who was not disgraced on his chasing debut at Chepstow and his tendency to jump to his right shouldn't be as much of an issue going this way round. Seaston Spirit completes the line up on his chasing debut but is likely to need the aforementioned duo to fail to fire in order to play a leading role here.

Verdict

ENNISCOFFEY OSCAR made a low-key start over fences at Chepstow but will find this less demanding and was the best of these over hurdles.

Resumes on a potentially handy mark, but 21-month absence has to be a big concern.

Verdict

DANS LE VENT was fourth on his seasonal debut in Chepstow's Silver Trophy, a race that is often a strong piece of form, and having only been raised 1lb for that encouraging run, he could have plenty of milage still to go this year in the handicap ranks. Haul Away saw his four-race winning streak come to an end at Aintree in good company and he has been given a chance by the assessor off the same mark here, while the hat-trick seeking duo Potterman and Canyon City look essential names to add to the shortlist.

Verdict

POTTERMAN will need to have improved during the summer in order to make a winning handicap debut off this mark. However, he still has low mileage and possesses potential, and may well be equal to the task with conditions in his favour. It'll look significant if there's confidence behind San Satiro in the betting, while the progressive Haul Away and 2016 winner Younevercall are others to consider.

Irish point winner who showed a fair bit in 3 quick runs over hurdles in the spring. Tailed off on debut in this sphere at Huntingdon, but she's likely to leave that well behind in time.

Verdict

MARIENSTAR returned in winning fashion at Worcester last month and is entitled to play a leading part if in the same form over this shorter trip. Bryony Frost takes over in the saddle to remove a valuable 3lb and that lessens the burden of the 6lb rise handed for her recent five-length success. Angels Antics may need it softer than this to be seen at her most effective but has to be respected on the best of her form, including a neck second to the highly-regarded Cap Soleil in Listed company at Haydock. Midnight Target was a Listed winner at Cheltenham in the spring and is respected despite returning off a 5lb higher mark, with the consistent Cotton Jenny also respected.

Verdict

MIDNIGHT TARGET ended last season on a high, landing a competitive handicap chase from the front at Cheltenham, and she is taken to pick up where she left off with similar conditions forecast. Marienstar did the job well at Worcester 19 days ago and is feared most ahead of Angels Antics, who was pitched into a tough race for her chase debut last month.

Verdict

A return to two miles could be just what is needed for the notoriously tricky ride TIDAL WATCH, who was a three-time winner over similar distances in the summer and has been sharpened up for this with a recent spin round the all-weather track here. Telegraph Place beat a useful field in a novice event at Warwick in the summer and is interesting now heading into the handicap ranks on his first outing for Chris Gordon, while Rocket Ronnie is lurking dangerously at the foot of the weights following some useful performances this season and there could be more progress to come in the hands of a leading conditional here.

Verdict

TIDAL WATCH's form took off over hurdles during the summer and he could easily still be on a good mark now returning to timber after a good run on the Flat here recently. Lexington Law ran well when last seen over hurdles a year ago and his Flat ability provides the hope for better still. Nachi Falls and Telegraph Place are others to consider in a competitive finale.
