Losing run stretches back to 2013 and he failed to offer much in the way of short-term encouragement in 2 starts during December.

Verdict

Towcester specialist SKIPPING ON is in great form and could easily be heading here on a hat-trick if not coming to grief when in contention last time. This is tougher now 7lb higher in the ratings but a sure-footed round of jumping should see the gelding on the premises once again. Glance Back was not disgraced here last time and has to be respected, with claims also given to the veteran Mondo Cane who was in the process of running a huge race when unshipping his rider at Fakenham.

Verdict

SKIPPING ON has improved for present connections of late, and having scored at around this trip at Towcester 2 starts ago, looked set to give an improved winner most to do before unseating 3 out back at that venue last time. He gets the narrow vote to get back on track, though Glance Back, who also improved last time, and Mondo Cane are very much respected.

Modest maiden over fences, but showed a bit more than previously when third at Bangor (20.3f, heavy) 2 starts back. Failed to stay 25f at Hereford latest but 2 lb out the weights here.

Verdict

GROW NASA GROW produced arguably a career best over fences last time when not beaten far behind Doktor Glaz at Doncaster. He can build on that here to land this open looking contest from Dylanseoghan and Heresmynumber, who are potential improvers with the former arriving on the back of a decent placed effort over C&D just over a fortnight ago. Heavenly Promise can't be completely ruled out off a featherweight.

Verdict

This looks wide open, and whilst disappointing last time, CLONDAW WESTIE could be worth chancing now his attentions are switched to chasing. Lawney Hill's charge had shaped with plenty of promise over hurdles at Fontwell previously, and as a former point winner, he is expected to do better in this sphere. Dylanseoghan and Grow Nasa Grow are just 2 potential threats.

Won a couple of 2m novice chases at Southwell in the summer. Disappointed all 3 starts since, however, and probably better on faster ground.

Verdict

Ben Pauling's runners are back to running something like their best and his CREEP DESBOIS is backed to follow up his Fakenham victory which came on just his second start over the larger obstacles. Colin's Brother is sure to give him plenty to think about and the consistent eight-year-old was impressive when back to winning ways at Ludlow. O Maonlai has victories waiting in the locker, while Bright New Dawn is well treated on the best of his form.

Verdict

It could be worth chancing CROSSPARK, who's shaped well in 2 of his 3 starts this season and this represents a drop in class. Creep Desbois is the one with the most progressive profile and is the obvious threat.

Looks limited and is miles out of the weights on this chase debut.

Verdict

TREE OF LIBERTY has taken well to fences, arguably building on his facile Ludlow success when chasing home subsequent Grade 2 winner Saint Calvados at Newbury. There should be plenty more to come from Kerry Lee's six-year-old and he gets the vote to edge out Chirico Vallis, who clearly has the ability but is prone to the odd mistake. St Merryn looks to have plenty on his plate and is probably booked for third.

Verdict

TREE OF LIBERTY's Ludlow win is backed up by the clock, and he surely meets nothing of the class of Saint Calvados this time, so is expected to quickly regain the successful thread. Chirico Vallis is the obviious danger in what has the makings of a match.

Back-to-back winner at Plumpton in December and excellent third in Sussex National (28.4f) back there 3 weeks later. However, found gun run of form coming to an abrupt halt last time.

Verdict

Two Smokin Barrels warrants plenty of respect lining up off 1lb lower than when third at Newbury while Miss Tongabezi and Tara Mist will both appreciate dropping down from Listed company. However, in receipt of lots of weight, TIMON'S TARA might be able to land the spoils. She is 5lb better off with Tara Mist for a length defeat at Uttoxeter in November and has posted a couple more solid efforts in defeat since. This could be her time to shine.

Verdict

TWO SMOKIN BARRELS has gradually worked her way back to form this season, and is selected to come out on top, especially now returned to mares only company. Miss Tongabezi is narrowly preferred to Timon’s Tara for forecast purposes.

Fairly useful hurdler who ran to a similar level on the first of 3 runs over fences last summer, leaving Dr Richard Newland since a disappointing run in August. Should be capable at this level.

Verdict

HAZEL HILL arrives having won his last 10 starts between the flags and he will prove difficult to beat first time under NH rules. Path To Freedom has also enjoyed plenty of success in the point-to-point sphere, winning four of his 10 starts, and he can go close on his hunter chase bow, while triple hurdles scorer Trafalgar Rock has recently joined Alexandra Dunn and will be fighting fit following a spin at Cocklebarrow.

Verdict

Philip Rowley introduced Grandturgeon to make an impressive winning hunter debut in these colours last month and HAZEL HILL is taken to repeat the feat on the back of 10 successive point wins. Path To Freedom is another who has enjoyed plenty of success between the flags and may provide the main opposition ahead of Trafalgar Rock.
