Modest maiden on the Flat.

Verdict

Based on official ratings this race appears to be a match between BELLAMY and I'll Be Your Clown, with the preference going to the former because of the 7lb he gets from the Dan Skelton representative this afternoon. The son of Black Sam Bellamy only found a Paul Nicholls representative too good at Wincanton last time and that form was boosted with the winner being successful again last month. Bricbracsmate is the pick of the remainder.

Verdict

BELLAMY left his hurdling debut form behind when runner-up at Wincanton and sets the standard. The penalised I'll Be Your Clown is the obvious threat.

Looked limited over hurdles for Clare Ellam but has bolted up on both starts over hurdles for Dan Skelton in recent days and likely hard to beat under double penalty. Engaged 3.05 Bangor Saturday.

Verdict

The in-form Too Many Diamonds would be the clear pick if turning up in search of a four-timer but he ran at Bangor on Saturday. If he skips this engagement then the preference would be for CABERNET D'ALENE, following his maiden hurdle win at Taunton late last month. Hes Our Robin should be in the mix for the places, along with Hear The Chimes and Port Lairge.

Verdict

TOO MANY DIAMONDS has made a cracking start for Dan Skelton, looking well ahead of his mark in scoring twice in recent days, and should he take up this engagement (engaged 3.05 Bangor Saturday) he should prove hard to beat. Jupiter Custos and Cabernet d'Alene can give him most to do.

Verdict

Paul and Clare Rooney have a strong hand in this race with Always Lion and BENEFICIAL JOE making the line-up. The former was a useful bumper performer a few seasons ago and he was last seen winning at Ludlow in November 2015, but obviously he may need the run today. Beneficial Joe was entitled to need the run last time out and he must have a big chance based on his Hexham win in October. Mahler Lad makes the most appeal of the remainder.

Verdict

ALWAYS LION has been off the track for 18 months but he could still be worth chancing given he was the best of these over hurdles and is bred to make a chaser. Beneficial Joe is next best.

Verdict

WORK IN PROGRESS took advantage of a walkover last time out to cruise to an easy victory but he looks to be on the upgrade and could be worth following once more for the in-form Dan Skelton operation. Sigurd was a disappointing beaten favourite at Chepstow earlier this month on the Flat but he could be suited by a return to this venue having won over this course and distance in the past, while Secret Door arrives on a hat-trick and was impressive when landing a hot contest at Haydock most recently.

Verdict

A good-quality handicap for the time of year, with VISERION, who has made a very good start in novice company, taken to improve for the step up in trip and make a successful debut in this grade. Dangers are plentiful, with hat-trick seeking Secret Door and Sky Khan feared most.

Off the mark in this sphere at Ludlow (2m) in October. Has returned in decent nick, matching form of his runners-up effort when fourth at Warwick (2m) last month. Not dismissed.

Verdict

I'dliketheoption has been given a chance by the handicapper here, dropped to a mark he scored off at Ludlow last year, and has hinted at a return to form of late. The same can't be said for Yorkist who has been raised once again by the assessor on the back of his Stratford second, back to the mark he competed off at Aintree and Ayr. However, BABY KING looks dangerously treated running off the same mark he got the better of Astre De La Cour off at Wincanton and he gets a tentative vote to continue his progress over fences.

Verdict

BABY KING took well to this discipline and put up a borderline useful effort when scoring at Wincanton in February. He should remain competitive from 7 lb higher and gets the nod. Yorkist is proving consistent for Dan Skelton and along with I'dliketheoption heads up the dangers.

Been in fine form for new yard, adding handicap hurdle win at Fontwell to back-to-back chase victories. Runner-up in hurdle/chase last 2 starts and likely to be bang there again.

Verdict

William Money hasn't finished outside the top two since moving to Tim Vaughan and is sure to be on the scene once again at the finish, while the top weight Ultimatum Du Roy was an impressive winner here last time over course and distance but this must surely be tougher with the nine-year-old now 9lb higher in the ratings. Therefore the vote goes to LOST LEGEND, who threatened a return to something like his best at Ffos lass last time and, with his claimer's 10lb allowance taken into account, is 32lb lower than his last winning mark.

Verdict

A case can be made for all of these. EMERALD ROSE has had excuses for her defeats at Bangor this spring and might be worth chancing back at the scene of her win in the autumn. Ultimatum du Roy and William Money arrive at the top of their game and could be the pair to give Julian Smith's charge most to do.

Black Sam Bellamy mare who has been pulled up on all 3 starts in points.

Verdict

Brecon Hill looked a handy prospect when scoring on debut at Catterick before being narrowly denied at Sedgefield last time when a heavily fancied favourite, while Another Crick should have benefited from his Southwell debut and a much improved performance is expected today. However, preference is for Jennie Candlish's QUICK PICK, who showed promise when second on his first Rules start at Warwick and brings winning point for to the table.

Verdict

BRECON HILL didn't have things go entirely his way when turned over at short odds at Sedgefield recently and is worth another chance to show he's a useful prospect. Irish point recruit Quick Pick made a promising start for new connections at Warwick recently and is the obvious big danger.
