Verdict

MORNING WITH IVAN won twice late last year and both of her subsequent performances suggest that she can win a race of this nature. That said, Nendrum is a clear threat based on his easy win over C&D a few weeks ago and that was his second victory over this track and trip since the turn of the year. Others to consider are Character Onesie and Urban Kode.

Verdict

MORNING WITH IVAN is doing nothing wrong at present and should make another bold bid. Character Onesie is all about speed and may appreciate this better ground, while Nendrum is clearly thriving so has to be respected.

Useful Flat winner who made an encouraging debut in this sphere when runner-up at Catterick (17.7f) in November, staying on well to take second final 50 yds. Should improve.

Verdict

BEDROCK has been a bit disappointing in his last couple of starts but he was third in a Grade 1 at Aintree last season and he should be more than good enough to win this contest. The five-year-old is making his debut for Iain Jardine and he is having his first start since having a wind operation. The Steward was well above-average on the Flat a few years ago and he displayed plenty of promise on his hurdles debut back in November, while Ballycrystal Court and The Road Home also make the shortlist.

Verdict

BEDROCK sets a useful standard so should prove hard to beat on first start for Iain Jardine following a wind operation. The Steward should improve from a promising hurdling debut at Catterick in November and is feared most.

Maiden pointer who failed to complete first 2 chase tries and whilst completing, he has not beaten a rival on each of his last 2 starts. Hard to fancy now handicapping.

Verdict

If it wasn't for being brought down at Catterick, MIDDLEBROW may well have completed a hat-trick heading into this contest, but the track winner can make it three from four dropping back to 2m1f. Celtic Flames was running a big race when falling at the last here last time and can go well with a clear round, while An Laoch is not without a chance.

Verdict

MIDDLEBROW wasted no time getting back on track and matched his previous best despite jumping left when scoring over further here in January. A 6 lb rise looks fair and he can progress further. Celtic Flames was in the process of running well when departing late on here recently and he is feared most.

Hinted at a revival when third off much-reduced mark at Kelso and whilst not disgraced since, he hasn't shaped like a winner in waiting.

Verdict

Brian Hughes reunites with the hat-trick seeking Nefyn Bay who has thrived here of late and can go well once again, while Chain Of Beacons steps up in trip having scored at Kelso when last seen and is another must for the shortlist. However, preference is for track and trip winner JOHN WILLIAMS, who can get back on track having faltered on his hat-trick bid last time.

Verdict

NEFYN BAY arrives at the top of his game having scored over fences/hurdles at this venue in recent weeks and he is fancied to make a bold bid to complete the hat-trick. Chain of Beacons, another last-time-out winne, is feared, while market support for Dimple would also be interesting.

Bumper winner who ran best race over hurdles when third at Kelso (2m) in May. That something of a stand out effort, but switch to handicap will help her, albeit she is 2 lb wrong.

Verdict

BUCKLED has won two of his last three and Sandy Thomson's eight-year-old can follow up his 12-length rout over course and distance here. He thrived round the tight turns of the Edinburgh venue and can hold off the stable's other runner, the quirky Arthurs Secret. The consistent Blunder Buss is considered for Chris Grant and Brian Hughes, while Uptown Funk is another course winner for the shortlist.

Verdict

UPTOWN FUNK was well held pitched in at the deep end in listed company at this track last month, but had previously made a winning hurdles debut, and in receipt of a handy age allowance on handicap bow, he is a strong contender up in trip (stayer on the level). Buckled improved for a change of tactics over C&D last time and is a definite contender, along with Arthurs Secret.

Remains a maiden and faces another stiff task from out of the handicap.

Verdict

ATTENTION PLEASE has won three of his last four and baring any jumping mishaps can land another telling blow here despite having to shoulder a further 7lb. The visored Robins Legend is still a maiden but has been given a massive chance by the handicapper, while course and distance winner Misfits can't be ruled out if there is any further ease in the ground.

Verdict

This represents a good opportunity for the thriving ATTENTION PLEASE to notch another win. Dun Faw Good had Misfits 15 lengths behind him when runner-up over C&D last month and is the one likely to give Rose Dobbin's charge most to do.

50/1 and tongue strap on, last of 10 in bumper at Hexham (good to soft) on debut 6 months ago.

Verdict

Leostar showed improvement when third at Catterick and the son of Nathaniel returns to the scene of his racecourse debut looking to build on that. Brian Hughes takes the ride aboard Sporting Press, who has had a wind operation since disappointing favourite backers last time, and he could be capable of more. However, preference is for COLBY, who didn't handle the Sedgefield undulations last time but was far form disgraced when not beaten far here on his debut.

Verdict

The Keith Dalgleish-trained SPORTING PRESS travelled powerfully for a long way at Ayr and can leave that form behind faced with a sharper test now. Catterick-third Leostar may prove next best unless the betting speaks in the favour of newcomers Haafaprincess and/or Amaranth.
