Verdict

SETTIE HILL was travelling well until unseating at the second-last at Market Rasen when sent off odds-on a fortnight ago and he can make full amends here in what looks a more than winnable contest. Ringa Ding Ding has shown respectable form in three starts so far over hurdles and is one to consider along with point-to-point winner Ballydun Oscar, who has had a wind operation before making his debut for Ben Pauling.

Verdict

SETTIE HILL wasted what had looked another good opportunity when unseating his rider at Market Rasen 2 weeks ago and is taken to make amends. Ringa Ding Ding and Ballydun Oscar can place.

Three-time winner last season and bounced back to form when 9 lengths second over C&D in April. Needs to step up on that now, though.

Verdict

VICONTE DU NOYER bounced back to form when runner-up to Drumcliff at Uttoxeter, with Days Of Heaven (fourth) and Henryville (eleventh) in behind, and Colin Tizzard's grey can go one better off a 2lb higher mark. Days Of Heaven took a fair step forward from his return at Cheltenham in April and the handicapper has dropped him 1lb, which will assist. Bagad Bihoue did well last summer when winning two novice chases here and he can go well on his first run since November.

Verdict

Last year's winner ALCALA perhaps found the run coming a bit quick after his reappearance when a well-held fourth here at the start of last month and is taken to bounce straight back. Days of Heaven and Viconte du Noyer ran well in a strong race at Uttoxeter last time and head the dangers along with the selection's stablemate Bagad Bihoue.

Lightly raced and much more miss than hit since her Bangor win in April 2015. Easy enough to look elsewhere from out the weights.

Verdict

Amour D'or has won her last two at this track and was given a nice ride by David Noonan for the most recent of those successes, but she didn't win by that far and a 7lb penalty makes life difficult here in a competitive heat. Goodgirlteresa showed flashes of potential last season but was poor when last seen at Southwell, and this rates as a good opening for KAYF CHARMER to score. She benefitted from decent ground when second at Ffos Las a fortnight ago and is fancied to build on that.

Verdict

AMOUR D'OR has been resurgent in recent weeks, landing each of her last 2 starts in course handicaps, latterly over C&D. She can complete the hat-trick under a penalty, with Flow With Eve and Ruby Russet a couple of the likelier threats.

Verdict

Dual Grade 1-winning hurdler DIAKALI was heavily supported in the betting when landing the odds on his fencing bow at Fontwell and is fancied to build on that effort. Formerly with Willie Mullins, he hasn't been easy to train but the bigger obstacles have revitalised the nine-year-old and he can account for Capitoul, who has won three of his last four for Dr Richard Newland. Miss Night Owl can chase the pair home and land third spot.

Verdict

DIAKALI impressed with the way he jumped when making an emphatic winning chasing debut and he should have little trouble outclassing this small field for all he has a thriving rival in the shape of Capitoul. The other three are hard to recommend.

Modest maiden on the Flat for Jim Bolger and was ultimately brushed aside on recent hurdles bow here.

Verdict

PASSING CALL hasn't finished outside of the first three home in her six hurdles outings so far and she could land a deserved victory dropping back in trip for this assignment. Passing Dream was a ready winner at Towcester recently but this is tougher now she's penalised, while the JP McManus pair are of serious interest. Empreinte Reconce disappointed when sent off favourite for her debut at Newbury, but is well regarded and should improve on her hurdles bow, while Firmage Burg makes her debut in this sphere representing a top stable.

Verdict

There's nothing wrong with PASSING CALL's attitude despite her sequence of placed efforts and this looks to be a good chance for her to get off the mark. Empreinte Reconce failed to live up to expectations in a Newbury bumper in December but she is better than that, while Firmage Burg should have a future in this sphere.

Placed a couple of times in Ireland from his lowly mark last year, and step back in right direction on second start for this yard when fifth at Uttoxeter. Back over fences now.

Verdict

GIN AND TONIC could be the drink of choice for punters if obliging here and building on his recent second-placed efforts, including a respectable performance at Fakenham when returning to fences last time. Key To The West landed just his second chase victory at Market Rasen latest and is considered once again from just 3lb higher, along with Colin Tizzard's Third Act and the consistent New Millennium in the hands of Richard Johnson.

Verdict

GIN AND TONIC arrives in good heart and appeals as the most solid option. No No Cardinal has to be respected given his record in this race, while Hope's Wishes remains with potential in this sphere.

Flat-bred filly who was well backed and knew her job when fourth at Wincanton first time out. That form sets the standard, but she doesn't appeal as the type to improve significantly.

Verdict

Mick Channon's ROSE CROWN was sent off favourite when fourth on debut at Wincanton last month. She can make amends to supporters here having not been disgraced on that occasion. Harry Fry's newcomer Eleanorofaquitaine is sure to be popular, while Boomarang wasn't beaten far when fourth on debut and is also considered, with any market support for David Pipe's newcomer Druide Premier noteworthy.

Verdict

ELEANOROFAQUITAINE is a half-sister to a bumper winner and represents a yard with an excellent strike rate in these events, so she's capable of making a winning start at the expense of Rose Crown and Boomarang who, although arriving on the back of promising starts, don't actually set a very high standard.
