20/1, modest form when fourth of 7 on Yarmouth debut (6f, good) 18 days ago. Will need to step up a little on that to go close here.

Verdict

GOOD TYNE GIRL obliged favourite backers when scoring for the second time at Wolverhampton and with smart course form here already from her five furlong debut, Richard Fahey's youngster should play a leading role once again. Beryl The Petal could be suited by the drop back in trip here, while stablemate Angel Cakes merits respect on debut. Susan Corbett's Kyroc is also respected following her Thirsk second last time.

Verdict

BERYL THE PETAL has been knocking on the door and perhaps this could finally be her day. Kyroc improved when chasing home the progressive Princess Power in a Thirsk nursery last time and may provide the main threat ahead of dual previous winner Good Tyne Girl.

Fair form when runner-up twice on AW in recent months. Well below that level back on turf last time and needs to prove she's as effective on the grass.

Verdict

It wasn't the real NINA PETROVNA who struggled at Ayr last time out, but having knocked on the door twice before that it is worth forgiving Archie Watson's Havana Gold filly that run and backing the 32,000 pounds yearling to be back at her best here. Mrs Hoo was much improved at Musselburgh last time and could be suited by the extra furlong she encounters here, while Karl Burke's newcomers French Sonnet and Delectable require a market check.

Verdict

MRS HOO was a pleasing third at Musselburgh at the start of the month and can build on that and strike at the second time of asking. With doubts about Nina Petrovna's effectiveness on turf it could be that the main threat comes from one of the Karl Burke newcomers, Delectable or French Sonnet, with the betting likely to help split them.

Respectable third of 7 in handicap at Doncaster (16.5f, good to firm, 3/1) 32 days ago. This a higher grade of handicap than he often contests but yard in form.

Verdict

STORMIN TOM may have been 10lb lower when winning this last season, but he has been in fine form this season, already scoring at Beverley, and could easily defend his title here having been beaten less than a length off this rating at Catterick over the same trip. Ajman Prince wasn't disgraced on his first outing since 2016 last time and must be considered, while course winner Mutadaffeq could be the pick of the David O'Meara pair.

Verdict

STONE THE CROWS edged out the reopposing Dominating when successful at Carlisle in June and can resume winning ways with the drop in trip in his favour. The front-running Stormin Tom goes well at this venue and is respected, while Ajman Prince made an encouraging return from an absence at Wolverhampton last month and will be a threat if building on that.

Winner at Hamilton in July. 5/2, possibly found race coming too soon when fifth of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (10f) 16 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Back down in trip. Remains with potential.

Verdict

David O'Meara's Three Saints Bay has progressed through the handicap ranks this season and following a pair of Beverley victories has the chance to land a hat-trick here. However, preference is for course and distance winner RESTIVE SPIRIT, who was not disgraced in a hot Goodwood contest on his handicap bow last time and could gain compensation off 1lb lower in this easier-looking contest. Aquarium is another who performed well on the Sussex Downs to consider.

Verdict

THREE SAINTS BAY's front-running style should be well suited to this track and he's taken to complete the hat-trick but a case can be made for all the others in an interesting 3-y-o handicap. Restive Spirit and Aquarium both performed with credit in Glorious Goodwood handicaps recently and could be the pair to give David O'Meara's charge most to do.

Thrice-raced maiden. 25/1, 12 lengths second of 5 in novice at Pontefract (12f, good) 24 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Improvement needed but is unexposed.

Verdict

The lightly-raced LOW PROFILE got off the mark at Wetherby in useful fashion last time and having subsequently changed hands for 22,000 guineas the Galileo gelding makes his first start for Rebecca Bastiman looking to follow up off a fair 5lb higher rating. Roundhead and Breathable are others who have won on their last outings, while Pontefract winner Sempre Presto found just one too good at the same venue last time but is respected here off 1lb lower.

Verdict

BREATHABLE looks to be heading firmly in the right direction now and can make light of a 6 lb rise for Beverley. Low Profile has switched stables since his Wetherby handicap debut success in June but remains with the scope for better, while Roundhead is also respected on the back of his winning start for Grant Tuer at Musselburgh.

Verdict

Lily Ash won well at Yarmouth time and must have solid claims once again having been handed a fair 4lb rise. However, JOYFUL STAR proved he could be just as useful at this trip when second at Newcastle last time, and if returning from six months off in the same form could be the one to side with. Foxy Rebel has to be considered if repeating the best of this seasons form, with Vigee Le Brun also respected.

Verdict

BEAUDEN BARRETT is on a lengthy losing run but is on a good mark and might be worth chancing back from a break with the John Quinn stable in such fine form. Dutch Coed looked unlucky not to go close at Hamilton and is likely on a good mark himself, while Arcane Dancer is also well treated and took a step back in the right direction last time.
