Fair form when runner-up on debut at Bath in June. No match for useful winner in match at Windsor since but should find life a bit easier here.

Verdict

A very interesting maiden, in which TONKOLILI has an obvious chance following two second-placed finishes. The daughter of Kodiac has bumped into two above average rivals on both occasions and today could be her day. Dangerous Lady clearly improved on her second start and may have more to offer today, while Revived and Bee Ina Bonnet made encouraging debuts in recent weeks. Deviate is vulnerable under her penalty and Enrolment is arguably the pick of the newcomers.

Verdict

REVIVED made a pleasing start to her career at Goodwood earlier this month and is taken to leave that bare form well behind and strike at the second time of asking. Tonkolili couldn't lay a glove on a useful rival at Windsor last time but should find life a bit easier in this company, while Enrolment and Kaaba Stone are newcomers who make appeal on paper.

Modest filly. Respectable fifth of 11 in handicap (14/1) at Lingfield (10f, good to soft) 8 days ago. Good chance at the weights if anywhere near her best.

Verdict

At these weights CALIFORNIA CLIFFS makes the most appeal. She was not disgraced at Lingfield last time out and her second-placed finish at Brighton prior to that is decent form in the context of this race. Permanent would be a threat based on the pick of his form but does have to bounce back from a couple of poor efforts, while Rockliffe is also noted.

Verdict

CALIFORNIA CLIFFS has a good chance on these terms if she can recapture anything like the form she showed when runner-up at Brighton in June. Fellow 3-y-o Permanent is another who should go close, while False Id also has claims if a recent run at Hamilton can be forgiven.

Thrice-raced maiden. Seventh of 11 in minor event (14/1) at Thirsk (7f, good to soft) 32 days ago, worst of draw. Makes handicap debut. Plenty to find on form.

Verdict

The form of VEEJAY's second-placed finish at Haydock last time out was boosted when the fourth was narrowly denied in a valuable event at York last week. Based on that evidence the son of Approve could take plenty of beating today despite a 3lb rise in the ratings. Noble Manners deserved her recent victory at Newmarket, where the step up to 7f appeared to suit and this extra furlong should not be a problem. Paramount Love is another with valid claims this afternoon.

Verdict

The manner in which NOBLE MANNERS saw it out over 7f at Newmarket last time suggests the step up to 1m could see her in an even better light and she can make light of an 8 lb rise, perhaps at the main expense of Veejay, who is another who leaves the impression he'll be suited by 1m.

Winner at Lingfield in February. 25/1 and cheekpieces on first time, ninth of 10 in handicap at Kempton (7f) 76 days ago. First run for yard after leaving David Elsworth. Faces stiff task.

Verdict

RODAINI was deemed good enough to run in Group 3 company at Ascot last time out and this represents a huge drop in class for Simon Crisford's charge. Second in Listed company earlier in the season, the three-year-old should appreciate these calmer shores and could have too much class for this opposition. Hugin continues to go well and is a rare runner here for David Simcock, while Used To Be looks best of the remainder, just ahead of Mitigate.

Verdict

RODAINI should be more at home back at this trip and is narrowly preferred to the progressive Hugin in what will surely develop into a match between the pair.

3 wins from 12 runs this year. Hacked up in apprentice event at Chester (10.3f, good) on Saturday and hard to get away from off the same mark here.

Verdict

Course and distance winner SANDS CHORUS continued his love affair with the Yorkshire venue when second here last time over a trip that was too short. He's now back to his optimum distance and another bold showing on his beloved track looks on the cards. Alexander M looks the pick of the Mark Johnston pair, though Monticello was well fancied for handicaps at the big summer festivals and despite his uninspiring recent performances can be dangerous if back at his best.

Verdict

Sands Chorus and Mulligatawny both have winning C&D form to their name this year and should go well again but they may struggle to live with ALEXANDER M, who won easily at Chester on Saturday and will be tough to beat off the same mark if turning up in anything like the same form.

Verdict

Jedd O'Keeffe's WHITKIRK failed to back up his Nottingham win when only third at Thirsk last time, but can bounce back here and looks a leading player once again. Dandyleekie was only a neck away at Pontefract last time on his return to a mile and needs respect, while shrewd local handler Richard Whitaker saddles his consistent mare Totally Magic who is likely to find herself involved at the finish.

Verdict

WHITKIRK was back from a short break to finish third at Thirsk last week and is taken to build on that and resume winning ways. Ventura Secret possibly found the run coming too soon when below par at Redcar last time and looks capable of bouncing back, while Totally Magic can continue her run of fine form.

Verdict

Mick Channon's consistent campaigner Fitzwilly is respected here and is given a chance by the handicapper having been left on his current mark following his second last time at Lingfield. However a chance is taken on a return to this venue returning James Given's LA FRITILLAIRE back to her best and the course and distance winner is the one to side with here. Newmarket raider Theglasgowwarrior has to be considered, but this is his first attempt at this far and he is not a guaranteed stayer.

Verdict

THEGLASGOWWARRIOR has been consistent in handicaps around 1m4f and will likely take a bit of stopping against this largely much more exposed opposition if seeing out the longer trip. Fellow 3-y-o Silver Gleam is worth a try over this sort of trip and may prove next best ahead of Fitzwilly.
