Just a Nottingham maiden win to her name this time last year and likely to come up short once again.

Just a Nottingham maiden win to her name this time last year and likely to come up short once again.

Verdict

KODITIME impressed when obliging favourite backers at York and, despite being narrowly denied by a head when trying to follow up at Windsor, he rates the one to beat. Charlie Hills won this with Battaash last year and holds solid claims once again with C&D winner Spoof, who was at his very best when scoring at Chester last time. Haddaf, another C&D scorer, gets a second opportunity to land Listed glory this term having disappointed on his hat-trick bid in the Westow Stakes at York, while Mokaatil and Royal Ascot winner Sound And Silence can't be ruled out either.

Verdict

The draw could have been kinder to KODITIME but his handicap form this year looks strong and he is capable of coping with the step up to listed level. Haddaf and Spoof are quite closely matched on C&D handicap form in the spring and should have a part to play, while Sound And Silence would also be a player if bouncing back to his juvenile form in first-time blinkers.

Got on top close home at Brighton (5.2f) in May and gone close 2 of his 3 starts subsequently. Shade below form at aforementioned venue latest but type to bounce back quickly.

Verdict

Jashma was a beaten favourite when second at Bath and the C&D winner has to be respected from 1lb lower in the ratings, while Wiley Post is another to have hit the frame of late and must be noted. All-weather specialist Kasbah is interesting back on turf, with defending champion Rio Ronaldo another to consider from a 2lb higher mark. However, preference is for William Haggas' improving filly ISLAND OF LIFE, who drops back to the minimum trip with a first-time tongue-tie tried. She looks sure to be build on her handicap debut third at Nottingham and remains well treated at this early stage of her career.

Verdict

A typically competitive sprint handicap with the narrow vote in favour of SHAMSHON. Stuart Williams' charge needs forgiving a lesser effort in the Dash at Epsom on his most recent outing, yet he's on a good mark on the pick of his early-season exploits and could well bounce back. Last year's winner Rio Ronaldo is feared though, ahead of Island of Life.

2 wins from 5 runs this year, latest at Chelmsford City (8f) in March. Solid in-frame efforts since but last tasted victory on turf back in 2014.

Verdict

Charlie Fellowes' CHIEFOFCHIEFS got back on the scoresheet over C&D latest and the four-time winner looks set for a leading role once again for his shrewd young handler, by attempting to defy a career-high mark in the hands of top pilot James Doyle. Manson, another C&D scorer, is interesting with first-time blinkers equipped, with Gossiping also worth a market check stepping back up in trip. Via Serendipity is considered but may be better on the all-weather, therefore the chief danger to the selection looks to be Salt Whistle Bay. He has shaped well in two outings at Yarmouth this year, scoring on his seasonal bow, and must have solid claims with Andrea Atzeni in the plate.

Verdict

ALMOREB has shaped better than the distance beaten the last twice and is now only 2 lb above his last winning mark. He is taken to resume winning ways. Recent C&D winner Chiefofchiefs is feared most, whilst Via Serendipity and Salt Whistle Bay also enter calculations.

Verdict

MUTAKATIF looks well handicapped off a mark of 87 considering the strength of some of his juvenile form against the likes of Expert Eye and Finniston Farm. He got off the mark on his last outing of 2017 at Chester and looks to have the scope to progress again this campaign. Flavius Titus returned to winning form at Doncaster at the start of the month and he can prove competitive again despite a fair rise in the weights. The Richard Hannon pair of Rum Runner and Zalshah are both capable of going close on the form of their recent efforts.

Verdict

FLAVIUS TITUS upped his game when landing a big-field handicap at Doncaster earlier this month and remains low-mileage. He is fancied to follow up. Zalshah is preferred to Mutakatif for the forecast spot.

Found improvement, at first time of asking for Ian Williams, when winning 13-runner handicap at Windsor (8.1f, good to firm) last month. In much stronger event now, but can't be ruled out.

Verdict

IBRAZ followed up on two promising efforts at Newmarket when getting off the mark at the third attempt at Nottingham, beating the well-regarded History Writer, and the slight step up in trip on handicap debut can bring about further improvement. Bathsheba Bay won his maiden here in good style last season at the fourth attempt and should prove capable of building on his return effort at Doncaster, while first-time blinkers can make a difference to Kassar, who was fourth to Danceteria here over a mile last month.

Verdict

Plenty with claims here, including IBRAZ, who has improved with each start thus far and looks sure to appreciate this stiffer test of stamina. Simply Breathless and Mahaarat head the list of dangers.

Verdict

MARECHAL NEY shaped with plenty of encouragement over C&D on debut in a race that should work out well and that experience gained can be put to good use here. The step up in trip looks likely to suit Mutanaqel, as he ran with promise on both his starts over a mile as a juvenile, while others to consider include newcomers Reaction Time and Persian Rhapsody.

Verdict

MARECHAL NEY, a son of Frankel, created a very good impression over C&D 9 days ago, and is bound to win races. Jamih is another promising sort, while Reaction Time and Fox Mafia are newcomers to keep a close eye on.
