Promising type. C&D winner. Career best when winning 6-runner handicap at Lingfield (5f, AW, 5/6) 7 days ago, pushed out. Carries penalty. Very difficult to oppose.

Verdict

WARRIOR'S VALLEY is a highly-progressive three-year-old and he bolted up under a 6lb penalty at Lingfield last week. Another 6lb added to that should not be enough to stop him from winning once again today, especially as he is a proven winner on this surface. Samovar remains a maiden but he will be hard to keep out of the frame, while Global Rose is another with place credentials.

Verdict

WARRIOR'S VALLEY is improving quickly and he looks up to completing the hat-trick. Milton Road and Samovar are pick of the remainder.

C&D winner. Winner here in February. 15/2, respectable fourth of 9 in handicap at this C&D 6 days ago, nearest finish. Shortlist material.

Verdict

This is not a strong race and if CHERUBIC runs to the level which saw her win over C&D two starts ago the daughter of Dark Angel will be extremely hard to beat. Medici Moon has been very disappointing in his last couple of starts but he did win twice here late last year and it is too soon to be writing him off. Illusional remains comparatively unexposed and is one to note on his Fibresand debut.

Verdict

CHERUBIC, a facile winner on her fibresand debut 2 starts ago, shaped better than the bare result having made a sluggish start when fourth over C&D 6 days ago and she is worth another chance to prove herself on a fair mark. Scribner Creek and Zoravan rate next best.

Once-raced maiden. Fifth of 7 in minor event at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 7/1) on debut 16 days ago, needing stiffer test. May well do better.

Verdict

LINE HOUSE struggled on the dirt out in Dubai but she did run well on this surface back in December and that form is quite strong. The Jungle Vip's best piece run to date came over this C&D on his debut back in November and he cannot be discounted. Dutch Monarch displayed some promise on her debut while any market support for Dubstep or Penistone would have to be noted.

Verdict

LINE HOUSEs' Dubai experiment back-fired, yet she had proved steadily progressive prior to that on these shores and could be worth chancing to bounce back. Dutch Monarch rates a likely improver though, and can feature, whilst newcomer Dubstep is worth a close look in the betting.

Verdict

HAMMER GUN is best known for his exploits on Fibresand and ran creditably in a higher class when fourth on Tapeta behind the classy Lancelot Du Lack four days ago. He stayed on well despite being 4lb 'wrong' at the weights and is fancied to return to winning ways. Volatile is on the same mark as when winning here in novice company last time and deserves respect chasing a hat-trick, while Majestic Moon could prove best of the remainder.

Verdict

VOLATILE had plenty in hand when winning here 4 weeks ago, taking his form to another level in the process, and looks on a fair mark back in a handicap. Hammer Gun and Holiday Magic head the dangers.

Verdict

CAPTAIN LARS has been in excellent form on his last couple of starts, having won at Lingfield and Wolverhampton, and the only member of the field to have won at Southwell can gain his fifth course success. Classic Pursuit has been running with respect of late and has a first-time visor to assist, while Rozy Boys could improve for the switch to Ruth Carr's yard having only had four starts in his career.

Verdict

CAPTAIN LARS has been kept on the go by his new connections, winning 3 times in the space of a fortnight, and this looks to be another good piece of placing. Rozy Boys went the wrong way for David Barron, but could easily get back on track for his new yard returned to the AW.

Course winner. One win from 21 Flat runs. Thirteen runs since last win in 2016. 7/2, respectable 6 lengths second of 5 to Cousin Khee in handicap at this course (18.4f) 10 days ago. Down in trip.

Verdict

Cousin Khee has been in excellent form on his last couple of starts for Hughie Morrison, with two wins here over 2m2f, but the drop back down in trip has to be a slight cause for concern so the vote goes to THE RESDEV WAY. He won here last week in good style and can take advantage of his main rival over this distance. Ruler Of The Nile will be more suited by the return to 1m6f having finished second here over 2m in December.

Verdict

This may well develop into a match between THE RESDEV WAY and Cousin Khee, the former narrowly prefered given he may well be better served by the trip having scored over C&D 8 days ago. The latter is in rude health though, so shouldn't be dismissed lightly.

Bounced back to form when second of 7 in handicap over C&D 41 days ago. Takes on older horses here and has to enter calculations.

Verdict

The veteran SIR GEOFFREY has returned to form in good style as a 12-year-old, with a win at 25/1 in January followed up by a good second here last month, both of those over C&D, and Scott Dixon's gelding looks capable of another success. His stable companion Coiste Bodhar has a similar profile to the selection and has to be respected, while others to note include Teardrop Island and Monk's Stand.

Verdict

COISTE BODHAR only narrowly failed to back up his C&D victory here last week and is taken to register another success at this venue. Sir Geoffrey and Teardrop Island are other key players.
