Eighteen runs since last win in 2016, though wasn't disgraced when fourth of 10 in handicap over C&D (good) 20 days ago. Switches from hurdles to chase.

Verdict

Recent point winner Midnight Queen makes his first start under Rules for Tim Vaughan and if the market speaks in her favour she may be worth consideration, while Sam Twiston-Davies is an interesting jockey booking aboard Chris Grant's Summoned, who makes his first appearance following wind surgery. The 11-year-old French Seventyfive is a regular here and could be able to make the placings, but a chance is taken on another veteran track specialist LARKHALL, who has made the podium on seven of his 14 outings here and has won off 1lb higher in the past.

Verdict

MASTER SUNRISE failed to meet market expectations at Worcester on Monday, but he's clearly thought capable of better and is perhaps worth another chance, especially with Champion Jockey Richard Johnson now taking over in the saddle. Recent point winner Midnight Queen is interesting back under Rules, while Classic Jewel can go well fresh and is also respected.

Poor hurdler who was set a stiff task on chase debut at Hexham recently (last of 5 having stumbled badly on landing 4 out). Easy enough to look elsewhere.

Verdict

Nigel Twiston-Davies' useful hurdler EL TERREMOTO could take all the beating if matching his timber form on his chasing debut, having reached a mark of 142 at his peak over the smaller obstacles. Course and distance winner Gustave Mahler has chasing experience on his side and he is respected following a pair of Worcester seconds, while the 10-year-old Rossetti wasn't beaten far over hurdles recently and may be able to transfer that form to fences.

Verdict

EL TERREMOTO essentially disappointed on the back of his reappearance success over hurdles last term, yet it would come as no surprise to see him get back on track returned to chasing and he is fancied to come out on top. Gustave Mahler rates the chief threat and shouldn't be dismissed lightly however, ahead of Rossetti.

Dam was a bumper winner but her second foal has shown very little in points and a couple of bumpers.

Verdict

Recent Worcester winner INESSA is backed to follow up her victory here, having beaten a useful cast of rivals that day and only finding the handy Grageelagh Girl too good on her stable debut for Dr Richard Newland. Gordon Elliott saddles Turanga Lilly, who landed a Ballinrobe maiden back in the spring and is entitled to come on for her recent Downpatrick reappearance, while the consistent Northern Beau ran respectably on her first start since wind surgery here last time and could benefit from the step up in trip now.

Verdict

INESSA confirmed the promise of her hurdles debut when landing a 4-runner novice at Worcester last month, and given her Flat ability, there's likely plenty more to come in this sphere, particularly over this sort of trip. Northern Beau and Turanga Lilly can chase her home.

Modest on the Flat (little impact of late) and never on terms in a couple of runs over hurdles.

Verdict

Irish raider ROBIN DES MANA, who was twice a winner over fences last season, including when a 19-length winner at Punchestown, could be hard to beat here if arriving in the same form as when scoring at Worcester over timber earlier this month. Bangor winner Jonagold is looking for a confidence booster having fallen heavily when last seen in November, while Torrent Des Mottes wasn't disgraced when third at Uttoxeter last time and could be capable of making the frame.

Verdict

ROBIN DES MANA made a successful return to hurdles at Worcester last month and should be tough to beat at this lower level. Jonagold could perhaps be the one to follow Gordon Elliott's charge home if primed after an 8-month break.

One-time fairly useful hurdler/chaser, but very lightly raced in recent times and it's hard to know how much ability he retains.

Verdict

ANGEL OF HARLEM made an impressive winning debut for this yard at Market Rasen a week ago and she is very hard to oppose today, especially as she does not have to carry a penalty. Havisham is not the most reliable of geldings and was disappointing last time out, but he did win well at Fakenham two starts ago. Mr Snoozy and Rock Of Leon also make the shortlist.

Verdict

ANGEL OF HARLEM was transformed by the combination of a tongue tie and a switch of stable when routing the opposition at Market Rasen last week, and she'll take some stopping turned out from the same mark. Mr Snoozy and Mister Fizz are perhaps the pick of the opposition.

Only one win from 46 NH runs, and looks of little account now.

Verdict

RING EYE bounced back to form to finish second over C&D last time out and the veteran can be supported to go one better this evening. Flying Verse was well beaten at Worcester last month but is a player based on his easy win at this venue the time before that. West To Crossgales remains winless under Rules but may pick up some minor money this afternoon.

Verdict

RING EYE was well clear of the others when just outstayed over C&D 3 weeks ago and can go one place better if reproducing that form. West To Crossgales pulled too hard last time and can bounce back quickly, while The Lion Man can also get back on track with headgear quickly refitted.

16/1, better than result suggests when remote sixth of 10 in bumper at Fontwell (18f) on debut 40 days ago, weakening 2f out. Shorter trip now may help.

Verdict

JESSICA RABBIT displayed ability on her debut before tiring into sixth place, but that run suggested that she could go well in a race of this nature. Granny Frankham is closely related to plenty of winners and she wouldn't have to be a superstar to take this race, while Milldean Silva is a player based on her first run at Plumpton.

Verdict

GRANNY FRANKHAM makes a bit of appeal on paper for a race like this and might be worth chancing for a stable which has enjoyed bumper success in the past. Milldean Silva, Jessica Rabbit and Gilwen Gracie have all hinted at ability and likely won't have to up their game too much to go close in a race where the betting could prove informative.
