Verdict

Adams Park was a little disappointing on his hurdles debut when third at Market Rasen last month but he could feasibly improve for the addition of a first-time visor. Weinberg is another with headgear on for the first time in the shape of cheekpieces having failed to go on from his first attempt over timber when fourth at Aintree. The vote, therefore, goes to PARMENTER as her trainer has a fine record with juveniles and she could improve for the switch to timber.

Verdict

ADAMS PARK's jumping lacked fluency when well backed starting out in this sphere last month, but he appeals as the type to derive plenty from that experience, so a jump forward is on the cards. Unlike most of her fellow newcomers, Parmenter is bred for this sort of test and she is second choice.

Bangor winner last summer and also runner-up at Hereford in November. Much depends on whether he's ready to roll after 7 months off.

Verdict

ONE FOR BILLY went down by half a length on his chase debut at Ffos Las when second to Dark Invader and this tighter track looks likely to suit Dan Skelton's gelding, who is taken to go one better. Sage Monkey returns from a winter break and is respected back in handicap company, while Salto Chisco is capable of returning to form having run well below par at Newton Abbot when last seen as he is entitled to strip fitter for that reappearance.

Verdict

It's very hard to see past ONE FOR BILLY who shaped nicely when second on his Ffos Las chase bow last month, and this looks an ideal opportunity for him to go one better.

Verdict

HATCHER finally got off the mark on his latest start over C&D when getting the better of Carntop and this looks an easy enough assignment under a penalty for Dan Skelton's charge. Personal Coach was fourth in a Newton Abbot bumper when last seen and could improve now running over timber, while Cybalko is better than what he showed on his debut here last May behind Mulcahys Hill.

Verdict

HATCHER dominated throughout in first-time cheekpieces here last time and Harry Skelton will presumably employ the same tactics again. This 5-y-o is hardly one for maximum faith but will likely have too much for this opposition. Personal Coach gets the nod for the forecast spot.

Showed little in bumpers/over hurdles but left that form well behind to make a winning chase debut at Southwell in October. Disappointed at Leicester following month and on comeback at Newton Abbot.

Verdict

This could be the ideal opportunity for Alastair Ralph's winning pointer DRUMHART, who got the better of the useful Bear's Affair in a duel at Chaddesley Corbett and could make a winning return to Rules from an 8lb lower mark than when scoring in Ireland. C&D winner What A Laugh ran better than the bare result suggests when fifth here last month, while Doitforjoe was running well when falling three out in that contest and has to be respected also.

Verdict

All of these have something to prove for one reason or another but KING SPIRIT at least took a step back in the right direction last time and could be worth chancing. Drumhart and What A Laugh are others to consider.

Back-to-back novice winner around this time last year and completed a cross-code hat-trick on the level at Lingfield in May. Shaped quite well back there a week later and opening mark looks fair.

Verdict

MELODY OF SCOTLAND is an unexposed four-year-old and she may be underestimated by a mark of 130 based on her French form. Red Tornado filled second place at Newton Abbot last time out and he could make the frame once again this afternoon. Jackblack won his last two starts over hurdles and is fit from a couple of spins on the Flat in May.

Verdict

MELODY OF SCOTLAND caught the eye on return from a lengthy lay-off at Aintree last month and given that race appeals as strong form, she should be hard to beat if stepping forward as expected. Red Tornado revived at Newton Abbot last month and a similar display will ensure he's in the mix.

Failed to make the grade when with Paul Nicholls, but signs that he has a small race in him for present yard, keeping on for fourth at Market Rasen (17f) latest. Greater test of stamina a plus now.

Verdict

Admiral Kid outran lofty odds when second on his debut over fences last time out, though he did look one-paced there and probably wants further than this on decent ground. Two Hoots has been going well in recent times and deserves to land one of these soon, but the vote goes to OPECHEE. David Bridgwater's charge was a solid third when returning from a five-month break here last week and should be able to build on that now dropped in distance.

Verdict

ADMIRAL KID was never the most consistent over hurdles but he did at least shape okay when runner-up on chase debut over further here last month and, with improvement a possibility with that under his belt, he could be worth chancing. Two Hoots and Valshan Time are a couple of others worth a second look.

Verdict

TIDAL WATCH caught the eye on his handicap debut at Southwell 33 days ago and looks to be of serious interest now upped in distance. A mark of 95 looks there to be capitalised on and the booking of the talented James Bowen is another positive. Kingston put in a career best when third at Uttoxeter last time, while Hes Our Robin is 0-33 under Rules but did run a lot better at Worcester recently.

Verdict

TIDAL WATCH produced easily his best effort to date over hurdles on handicap debut last month, and looks the way to go taking on an exposed bunch. Lord Fendale makes some appeal from an easing mark, while Kilcaragh Boy could be sharper for his recent run.
