Showed first form when 6 lengths second on Towcester handicap debut (21f, heavy) 3 weeks ago. Claims if he can reproduce that now.

Verdict

Dan Skelton often attempts to prove a point with stable newcomers and WESTERN BREEZE could find no end of improvement on her debut for the Warwickshire-based handler. The nine-year-old has also had a wind operation, and can land a second career win here. Chase Me wears first-time cheekpieces on his first run for Nigel Twiston-Davies and could be fairly treated, while Isle Road needs a market check travelling over from Ireland for John David Riches.

Verdict

WESTERN BREEZE is well handicapped on his best form and market confidence would look highly significant on his return for new handler Dan Skelton. Chase Me is also of some interest after a trainer change, while Waitinonasunnyday was an improved second on handicap debut last time.

Seventh of 8 in novice chase at Southwell (2m, good, 66/1) on debut over fences 29 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. More realistic chance in handicap but still hard to fancy.

Verdict

Alexandra Dunn won this race last year so Goonjim needs a market check, while Just A Feeling won on his first run since a wind operation for Dan Skelton last time out and arrives here off an unchanged mark. That did look to be a weak race, however, and it might be worth chancing BETWEEN THE WATERS. Jamie Snowden's charge has had his breathing tinkered with and caught the eye when second in a competitive Sedgefield event last time out.

Verdict

JUST A FEELING returned from a break to win easily over hurdles last weekend and will be tough to beat off the same mark if she can replicate that form over fences. Between The Waters could be the one to give her most to do if ready to roll after an absence, with Silent Man best of the remainder.

Has a good record at this venue, going in again over C&D in July 2016. Yet, he's been absent since finishing fourth at Bangor the following month so the market is likely to prove the best guide.

Verdict

Above Board was pulled up when last seen at Exeter but should be suited by this return to decent ground following a 193-day break, while Shelford drops in class after running respectably in a French Listed race earlier this month. TANARPINO was third to the well-treated pair of Winter Lion and Pure Vision at Cheltenham last month and he looks to have more to offer over fences. He is also unexposed over this trip and has been found a nice opening here.

Verdict

SHELFORD hasn't pulled up any trees over hurdles of late, but he went close in some hot summer handicap chase events last year, and he likely has a race of this nature in him from this sort of mark. Tanarpino ran well at Cheltenham recently and is feared, while Above Board is in the infancy of his chasing career and is also worth a second look.

Solid second at Huntingdon (20.5f) in March, but failed to build on that next time. Not one to trust.

Solid second at Huntingdon (20.5f) in March, but failed to build on that next time. Not one to trust.

Verdict

Little Millie was second in novice company last time and has to be considered, however, preference is for LADY MIX, who was only a length away at Worcester and having shown she is effective at the trip then, could be hard to beat here. Lady Markby was a winner at Market Rasen when last seen but has to prove she is still in the same heart following over a year off the track.

Verdict

STILL BELIEVING took a step back in the right direction at Ludlow last time, and she returns to hurdling on a very tempting mark, so gets the nod. Lady Markby was on a progressive path when last seen, so would need taking seriously if the market speaks in her favour, while Little Millie should give another good account under similar conditions to last time.

Fair maiden on Flat at up to 2m for Luca Cumani, who showed improved form to get off the mark on handicap debut in 7-runner juvenile at Cheltenham (16f) last month. May have more to offer up in trip.

Verdict

Cheltenham scorer STYLISH DANCER could be hard to beat back in novice company following that triumph when she beat some useful rivals. Hurricane Dylan got off the mark in a Sedgefield maiden last time and appears the main danger, while Lissycasey produced a career best when second at Warwick last time and may be capable of more now.

Verdict

LISSYCASEY's second at Warwick looks the best piece of form on offer (third won since), and he's taken to get off the mark. Hurricane Dylan and Stylish Dancer should be in the shake-up.

Modest maiden on Flat for Tim Easterby and no great promise in juvenile hurdles.

Verdict

NORTHANDSOUTH returned to fences with a win at Worcester, has struck up a good rapport with Bryony Frost (form figures of 131), and is back over hurdles off the same mark he won off over the larger obstacles. Get Ready Freddy will likely have benefited from a winter break and is well treated on his chase mark, while Teescomponents Max has been knocking on the door recently and completes the shortlist.

Verdict

NORTHANDSOUTH found the return to a sound surface sparking him back into life at Worcester earlier in the month, getting the job done comfortably in the end, so he's got obvious claims of going in again from the same mark. Most of the remainder have questions to answer, but Get Ready Freddy is capable of getting back on the up and Newquay Cards could benefit from quicker ground.
