Dual bumper winner who made a promising start to his hurdling career when fourth of 5 in Grade 2 at Cheltenham (16.4f) 20 days ago. Sure to improve for this step up in trip.

Verdict

TIME TO MOVE ON scored in both his bumper appearances in the manner of a top-class performer, beating a dual winner by 10 lengths on his debut at Exeter. Fergal O'Brien's exciting prospect should prove hard to beat if in the same form and can account for Two For Gold, who was not disgraced on his hurdles bow in a Cheltenham Grade 2. Thelongwayaround and Mountain Hawk have the potential to build on their recent course appearances and make each-way appeal.

Verdict

TIME TO MOVE ON could hardly have created a deeper impression in bumpers last season and rates a serious tool with a bright future over hurdles. Two For Gold was far from disgraced in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham on his hurdling bow last month, and is the obvious threat with this step up in trip sure to suit.

Showed a bit more on chasing debut when remote second at Sedgefield last month, but was well held back there since.

Verdict

OVERAWED was beaten less than a length when a silver medalist over 2m at Hereford last time and a 2lb rise for that first outing, her first for handler John Groucott, is fair as he looks to go one better up in trip. Benny's Secret is interesting on his chase debut following an encouraging reappearance over timber at Kelso, while Dulce Panem and Lady Master could be others suited by a switch to fences (the former has run over them in France).

Verdict

This is a weak race, so BENNY'S SECRET is selected to make a winning start over fences after shaping as if back in form at Kelso last month. Overawed rates the main danger for all that she remains unproven beyond 2m, while Lady Master looks best of the rest.

Showed improved form to open his account in handicap at Hexham (20f) in November 2017, seeming to relish the testing conditions. Absent since but he could still be on a good mark.

Verdict

DEDIGOUT is just 2lb higher than when rattling the crossbar twice in the early part of 2018 and Micky Hammond's veteran is more than capable of winning a race of this nature, having been a Grade 1 scorer at his peak. Stablemate Wig Wam Wiggle is interesting having won his latest outing at Hexham, but has been off the track for over a year which tempers enthusiasm. Aliandy has the chance to build on his promising Bangor reappearance and completes the shortlist.

Verdict

HOWTH SUMMIT made a pleasing start for his new connections at Carlisle in October, shaping like a stayer in the process, so there could easily be more to come over this trip. Aliandy should be a factor at this level, while Wig Wam Wiggle needs a market check on reappearance.

Twice a winner over fences this season and good second over C&D 3 weeks ago. Should be in the mix again.

Twice a winner over fences this season and good second over C&D 3 weeks ago. Should be in the mix again.

Verdict

LITTLE BRUCE found Haydock's new style fences too much for him as he capsized at the second obstacle when last seen a fortnight ago. He won well at Hexham the time before and, on that showing, can defy a career-high mark. Stable companion Skipthescales appeals as the type to benefit from jumping fences and is capable of improving from his return over hurdles at Aintree, while Fawsley Spirit is respected despite unseating his rider at Ffos Las most recently.

Verdict

LOUGH SALT is lower in the weights in this sphere and looked bound to have gone close but for a mistake over this C&D 3 weeks ago. He shades the vote over Mon Palois and Little Bruce.

Remained in good form on the back of his Ayr maiden hurdle success last season but slight question marks regarding fitness ahead of this return.

Verdict

ARISTO DU PLESSIS wasn't suited by going back over fences at Kelso on his latest start, so a line can be put straight through that effort, and he is now 6lb lower than when kicking off this season. Nuts Well never recovered after a bad blunder at Carlisle last month and switching back from fences could see him improve, while others to consider include Cornerstone Lad and Only Orsenfoolsies.

Verdict

A mark of 129 could prove a fair one for CORNERSTONE LAD based on some of his form in juvenile hurdles last season and he rarely runs a bad race, so he gets the vote here ahead of his stablemate Only Orsenfoolsies, the pair having both run respectably on the Flat recently. Nuts Well is also a danger.

Chase winner at Market Rasen on Boxing Day. Hasn't totally convinced under different codes since though, never in the hunt on the back of 7 months off here last month.

Verdict

MOVIE LEGEND ran a blinder to finish second behind the talented Bun Doran at Cheltenham last time and could build on those exertions back in calmer shores. An unchanged mark of 124 gives him a cracking chance and he can account for Raise A Spark, who has won three of his last five starts and gone up 15lb in the process. Just Cameron drops in trip and won't be disgraced at a venue he clearly enjoys.

Verdict

Last year's winner MOVIE LEGEND arrives in form and operating off the same mark, so all looks set fair for another bold showing. Raise A Spark is going the right way and rates the lead threat, ahead of veteran Just Cameron.

Ninth of 15 in bumper at Warwick (14f, good, 33/1) on debut 17 days ago.

Verdict

Kim Bailey is 2-4 with bumper runners here over the last five years and MERGEELA can further improve that tally. Related to four-time bumper winner Longhouse Sale, the three-year-old should have the speed for this test and has been found a nice opening to score. Artichoke Heart has some Flat winners in her pedigree and is noted, while the once-raced pair of Villiersdorp and What About Barb could be that little bit wiser second time out.

Verdict

Those with experience set the bar pretty low, so newcomers ARTICHOKE HEART and Mergeela could well come to the fore. Both are related to winners in this sphere, with marginal preference for the former before the help of market clues. Sorbet represents an in-form yard and is expected to be on the premises.
