Much improved when second in 21f Warwick maiden hurdle when last seen. Could do even better now handicapping this season.

Verdict

Bernard Llewellyn has already matched the number of winners he landed last term and has seen his horses run consistently well of late. SHADOW'S BOY can provide the Welsh handler with winner number seven for the season and a repeat of his second placed effort behind Tempestatefloresco at Ludlow should be good enough to take this contest. Speedalong produced a career best when second on his last start of last season and there could be more to come from the six-year-old of Jeremy Scott, while Drinks Interval has seen the form of his Ludlow victory earlier this autumn franked by the second, Majestic Moll, who scored at Doncaster at the weekend.

Verdict

A tricky contest that could go to DRINKS INTERVAL. She lost her unbeaten record over hurdles at Newbury last time but that looked a good race and she's probably not on a bad mark now handicapping returned to a longer trip. Shadow's Boy might emerge as the biggest danger ahead of Allez Jacques.

Well held in Newton Abbot bumper in October and never dangerous when mid-field on last month's Exeter hurdle bow. Likely more one for the longer term.

Verdict

PETTICOAT TAILS showed a fair level of form in bumper company last season, winning twice before finishing second in Listed company and third in a Grade 2. The form of the latter has worked out well, with the winner landing a Listed contest over hurdles at Newbury just five days ago. This step up in distance looks likely to suit Warren Greatrex's charge and she can take this en route to better things. Midnight Tune was second in a competitive mares' handicap hurdle over course and distance last time and looks a big threat, while Just A Thought looks best of the remainder.

Verdict

PETTICOAT TAILS had Just A Thought in behind her when runner-up in a Sandown listed bumper in March and can make a winning start over hurdles under Richard Johnson. Midnight Tune ran a blinder in a C&D handicap on her reappearance and could be the one to give Warren Greatrex's mare most to think about.

Fair over hurdles, and similar form over fences, 5 lengths second of 10 at Ffos Las (23.8f) in November. No reason why he won't be in the shake-up again.

Verdict

JENNYS SURPRISE did it well on her return from a year off the track at Uttoxeter last time out and the nine-year-old remains on a handy mark for the all-conquering Fergal O'Brien team. A 6lb rise doesn't look too harsh, and she can account for Daklondike, whose Chepstow fourth when attempting to follow up last time was disappointing. The quick turnaround could have been an excuse for that, but the likes of Wizards Bridge and Gorsky Island could prove bigger threats this time.

Verdict

DAKLONDIKE has quickly made up into a better chaser than hurdler and, having scored emphatically at Wetherby 2 starts back, he possibly found his Chepstow assignment 4 days later coming too soon. He gets the nod to get back on the up, with Bugsie Malone and Gorsky Island heading up the dangers.

Verdict

CAPELAND has not hit the heights he once promised but his last two starts have proven that he can go well in a race of this nature. Coeur Blimey is another who has been a bit disappointing since his bumper days but he was entitled to have needed his seasonal return. Global Thrill has been in outstanding form in recent months and he has to be given the utmost respect today.

Verdict

CAPELAND stepped up on reappearance form whilst possibly paying the price for a swift move into contention approaching the straight when fourth at Sandown last month. Now dropped in trip, he leaves the impression he has a bigger performance in his locker and gets the vote. Coeur Blimey is undoubtedly well-handicapped provided his jumping improves. Global Thrill can also feature.

No impact in handicaps hurdles/chases for David Pipe last season but fared a bit better on first start for his new yard at Lingfield (20f) last month. May do better again.

Overall profile uninspiring and he continues to struggle for form at present. Others more convincing.

Verdict

Armedandbeautiful will be popular following back-to-back second-placed finishes but soft ground would have to be a worry for him. With that in mind, preference is for LEITH HILL LEGASI, who relishes soft ground and made an encouraging seasonal return at Chepstow last month. Shanann Star does have to shoulder top weight but his sole Rules win to date came under similar conditions here in February.

Verdict

LEITH HILL LEGASI wasn’t disgraced on her return to action at Chepstow last month, and she looks capable of making an impact from a 3 lb lower mark with that run under her belt. General Girling could resume his progress on his stable debut, while Shanann Star remains on a workable mark and merits consideration.

Verdict

CHATEAU ROBIN showed improved form on his chasing debut when a close up second to Lough Derg Jewel at Ayr last month and looks the type capable of further improvement over the larger obstacles. Bredon Hill Lad went up 4lb for his most recent success at Ffos Las and warrants consideration running here on the same terms as last time due to his amateur rider's 7lb claim, while Zayfire Aramis is best of the remainder.

Verdict

BOLLIN LINE is in the form of his life and can get back to winning ways after a luckless run at Sedgefield. His young rider Aaron Anderson has built up a good rapport with him having been successful on him 3 times since August. Zayfire Aramis and Chateau Robin make up the shortlist.

20/1, signs of ability when seventh of 14 in bumper at Huntingdon (13.7f, good) on debut 23 days ago, but will need to step up on that form to go close.

Verdict

Grand Sancy raced far too keenly for his own good when fourth at Market Rasen to Normal Norman but has a first-time hood to help him settle and it could easily bring about further improvement. Kingofthecotswolds is respected coming from a yard that couldn't be in better form but ACEY MILAN has the strongest form in the book, having finished second to what looked a useful individual in Volcano at Exeter, and he comes from a yard who do well with their bumper horses. Copperhead and Bard Of Brittany are two others worthy of a market check on debut.

Verdict

ACEY MILAN couldn't justify market support on his Exeter debut but still shaped promisingly in second and gets the nod to go one better now. The Paul Nicholls-trained Grand Sancy is likely to build on his debut fourth, while Bard of Brittany, Kingofthecotswolds and Copperhead are newcomers who make appeal.
