Probably hasn't reached his limit over hurdles and should benefit from the drop back in trip, but has his work cut out with solitary rival here.

Verdict

This should be a penalty kick for Paul Nicholls' DREAMCATCHING, who was disappointing when well fancied in some quarters for the Fred Winter at the Cheltenham Festival, but bounced back in likeable fashion at Market Rasen last time and should take this if meeting no hiccups in running. Stealing Mix has struggled so far to make a telling impression and looks set for a supporting role here.

Verdict

DREAMCATCHING looked to have plenty in the tank when readily going clear at Market Rasen a fortnight ago, so he should have too much for Stealing Mix acknowledging that one might not have reached his limit yet, either.

Been in fine form of late, finding further improvement when winning 8-runner handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot (21.6f) 8 days ago. 11 lb higher mark makes life tougher, but can't be discounted.

Verdict

Paul Nicholls looks to hold all the aces here with his San Satiro, who carries a 7lb penalty for his Exeter walkover, and CAPTAIN BUCK'S sure to play a major role. Preference is for the latter who is backed to bounce back having faltered here lately. The Caller is respected for Warren Greatrex, while Lets Go Dutchess was a likeable winner at Newton Abbott but has been hit with a 11lb rise for that triumph and looks to have plenty on her plate now.

Verdict

CAPTAIN BUCK'S was clearly well below par here last month and is better judged on his previous efforts over timber. Still relatively unexposed, he can return to winning ways. The Caller and Lets Go Dutchess are solid alternatives.

A different proposition for this yard, winning 4 of 7 starts this season, looking somewhat unlucky not to add to tally over hurdles here (15.3f) latest. Open to further progress back in this sphere.

Verdict

Harry Fry's tough mare INNOCENT GIRL could be hard to beat here back over fences and in receipt of weight from all her rivals with usual pilot Kieron Edgar on board once again. Orbasa has been consistent of late without landing a victory but is given a chance off his lowest chase mark, while Meldrum Lad is in search of a quick-fire hat-trick having scored at Exeter and Huntingdon in the past few weeks but is a further 9lb higher.

Verdict

Competitive despite the numbers, with INNOCENT GIRL narrowly selected to build on what has been a highly-productive campaign already. Harry Fry's mare was a shade unfortunate not to add to her tally over hurdles latest and remains with mileage in this sphere. Meldrum Lad and Orbasa will give her plenty to think about, though.

Hasn't made the impact over fences this season that his new stable would have hoped for, but he returns to hurdling on a favourable mark as a result, so expect a bold showing back from a break.

Verdict

Captain Guy Disney has been something of a revelation in these contests this season and he links up with Paul Nicholls here aboard BISTOURI D'HONORE. He must have a huge chance of carrying on his run of successes here. Brian Barr's Mighty Missile can give the selection most to worry about and is respected on a pair of placed efforts lately, while the veteran Cousin Khee can also play a part in the finish.

Verdict

MONDERON has been a little underwhelming over fences for Fergal O'Brien, but it's hard to believe this shrewd handler won't rejuvenate him at some point and it's worth chancing that this return to hurdling from a reduced mark could be the catalyst. Mighty Missile shouldn't be far away but looks vulnerable, while Cousin Khee is nicely treated if on a 'going' day.

Poor maiden on the Flat for Bill Turner and well held all 3 starts over hurdles for new yard earlier this term.

Verdict

This looks the perfect race for CAPITAINE. The 139-rated performer remains a gelding with lots of promise despite bombing out in Grade 2 company at Kelso and he can follow in his stablemate's, Zubayr, footsteps by landing this race at skinny odds. Major Davis hasn't been without promise in bumpers and could be closest on hand to take advantage if the favourite fluffs his lines, beating off Status Quo and Brean Golf Birdie.

Verdict

CAPITAINE stands out in this line-up and is hard to oppose on the balance of his form shown in Graded novice events this term. Hurdles-debutant Major Davis may well emerge as the chief threat.

Cartmel winner last summer and caught the eye over hurdles at Plumpton last week. Hard to catch right but back over more suitable trip returned to fences.

Verdict

Difficult to be too enthusiastic about any of these, but THE MYTHOLOGIST's latest third over 2m3f at Sedgefield looks fairly strong form with the runner-up winning twice subsequently and stepping back up in trip shouldn't pose any problems. He gets the vote to edge out Best Boy Barney, 2lb lower than when third over this C&D last time, and the lightly weighted Definite Ridge.

Verdict

A number to consider, with point-winner BETWEEN THE WATERS looking particularly interesting stepped up markedly in distance with Sam Twiston-Davies booked. Definite Ridge caught the eye over hurdles at Plumpton last week and his stamina for this longer trip is proven, while The Mythologist is another who will be well suited by the longest trip he's tackled.

Verdict

Paul Nicholls has saddled the last couple of winners of this contest and he appears to have another cracking chance with DARK INVADER this time around. Take out impressive winner Lalor (who has struck again since) and he certainly wasn't disgraced on his racecourse debut over this C&D and normal improvement will make him tough to beat. Taunton fourth Lubatic rates the biggest threat ahead of Nenergy's Quest.

Verdict

Essentially a match between LUBATIC and Dark Invader, with the youngster just taken to shade it having run to an encouraging figure at Taunton.
