Verdict

POLLY'S GOLD was not beaten far at all when finishing second over 6f at Chepstow late last month and that form gives this filly a leading chance. Firenze Rosa found the Group 3 Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood too tough latest but won well at Lingfield on good to soft the time before and has claims now back down in class. Storm Jazz is closely related to plenty of juvenile winners and she would not have to be a superstar to take this event on her debut.

Verdict

Having been pitched in too deep in the Molecomb, FIRENZE ROSA wasn't given an overly-hard time, and back at this level, is capable of conceding weight all round. Hello Girl and Polly's Gold are the likely dangers.

Once-raced maiden. Hinted at ability, staying on steadily when fifth of 11 at Lingfield (7.6f, soft) on debut last week, not knocked about. Entitled to improve for that initial experience.

Verdict

Regimented was sent off at 25-1 when making a winning debut at Lingfield last month but that race was not the strongest race and a 7lb penalty makes life tougher for the son of Epaulette. With that in mind, preference is for YABASS, who is closely related to plenty of winners and he re[resents a yard who have had a great year with their juveniles. Soldier To Follow is bred to a middle distance horse next year but he could go well on debut.

Verdict

SOLDIER TO FOLLOW could be worth chancing on debut with the form of Regimented's debut win not looking too solid. Andrew Balding's string are going well at present, and this interesting newcomer may be good enough to make a winning start from his penalised rival. Rosedale Topping and fellow debutant Yabass look next best.

Fair form in maidens at up to 7f for Charlie Hills last year, and better for return/yard debut when landing a weak Ffos Las maiden (6f) last month. Mark no more than average, though.

Verdict

The form of CHUPALLA's Beverley win last month has been boosted with the second winning easily since and a 3lb rise in the ratings seems to be very fair. Pepita struggled from a wide draw at Chester last time out but she is a player in this event based on her two previous second-placed finishes. Paradwys bounced back to form when winning at Ffos Las a few weeks ago, while Angel Of Darkness should also be in the mix.

Verdict

PEPITA is essentially proving consistent and whilst only midfield at Chester last month the return to this small field environment may well see her in a better light. Chupalla on debut for David Evans and Pretty Bubbles are just a couple of others to consider however, in a wide-open affair.

Stepped up to win at Newmarket in June and didn't find things panning out ideally when third there last month. Course winner who has more progress in him, so clearly one to consider.

Verdict

Secret Art caught the eye when staying on well to finish fifth at Chelmsford on Tuesday but he may struggle to give 18lb to ANGEL DOWN. Henry Candy's three-year-old won at Newmarket in June and he was not disgraced when finishing third at the same venue last month. Repercussion has been slightly disappointing since arriving from France but there was some promise in his Ascot run last time.

Verdict

SECRET ART is 2 from 2 over C&D, on a good mark, and looked back in form at Chelmsford recently, so everything looks in place for him to gain his second success of the season at the expense of the less exposed Angel Down. Afonso de Sousa remains well treated on old form and the other two both have plenty to recommend them, so this is a competitive handicap for the numbers.

Latest win at Lingfield in May. Just ticking over since, though and likely to find at least one too good from a mark that's about right.

Verdict

It might pay to side with the top-rated MAJOR VALENTINE in a tight little handicap. The five-year-old seemed to handle a deeper surface when third at Nottingham and, with talented conditional Ben Robinson amongst the winners of late, he can steer his mount to another podium finish, possibly gold. Wiley Post warrants respect lining up off the same mark as when runner-up over C&D, while Vimy Ridge is well treated on best form.

Verdict

MAJOR VALENTINE has been so prolific this year that it's best to forgive a recent sub-par outing in heavy ground and chance him to get back to winning ways in a fairly weak race. Wiley Post is his obvious main threat following his C&D second last month, while Vimy Ridge and Zipedeedodah have been in reasonable form recently without looking especially well treated.

Goes well for this rider, winning at Jersey on return in April. Ran poorly after a break last month but type to bounce back.

Verdict

Difficult to be too confident about MAROC with a record of 19 and 0, but he has been hammering on the door recently and is partnered by one of the best amateur riders in the game in Simon Walker. Thahab Ifraj has placed over hurdles since third on the all-weather at Kempton in January and he warrants plenty of respect on his return to Flat duty, while Take Two and Grams And Ounces are others to keep an eye on.

Verdict

MAROC showed a willing attitude when just denied over C&D 2 weeks ago and can go one place better with one of the leading amateurs booked. Grams And Ounces has had a productive campaign so far and is next best ahead of Jersey Jewel.

Much improved when just failing on handicap debut at Newmarket (1m) in June. Not kicked on since but sets a clear standard back in a maiden.

Monsieur Bond sister to several winners, including smart winner up to 6f Move In Time. Showed ability and made good late headway when third at Nottingham (8.3f) in May and should improve.

Verdict

The form of RAZZMATAZZ's debut third at Nottingham looks rock solid with those around her winning four races between them since and, with normal improvement expected, she rates the one to beat. Angel's Quest certainly wasn't disgraced in a class 3 handicap at Glorious Goodwood and warrants plenty of respect on her return to maiden company, while Cherished can step forward on her debut fifth at Windsor.

Verdict

ANGEL'S QUEST hasn't kicked on since going close on her handicap debut at Goodwood but this represents an excellent opportunity for her to break her duck. Razzmatazz shaped well on debut at Nottingham back in May and is the clear main threat.
