Has found just one too good on each of his last 2 starts, but this longstanding maiden isn't one to set your watch by.

Verdict

HOPE IS HIGH won with plenty in hand at Yarmouth and has to be considered turned out quickly under a penalty. John Berry's filly was having his third run of the season there and may have just clicked into top gear. Powered was a close fourth at Bath last time, but doesn't find winning easy, so a bigger danger could be Marshall Aid, who is consistent enough to get involved and has slipped to an attractive mark.

Verdict

HOPE IS HIGH has proved consistent since switched to handicaps and produced just about her best effort yet when scoring at Yarmouth recently. Even with a 6 lb penalty to carry, a mere reproduction of that would probably suffice here. Powered was again in the mix when fourth at Bath on Saturday and will be a live danger if turned out again quickly, while Shirataki should also have a part to play.

Appears to be progressing in small increments judged on pattern emerging. However, her tendency to hang is an issue that will need to be ironed out if she's to continue to move forward.

Verdict

A competitive heat that could go the way of GOTTI. Jeremy Noseda's colt failed to load on his aborted debut, but was much better behaved at Brighton and kept on well despite taking a while to warm to the task. That experience won't be lost on him and he can get the better of Demons Rock, who has improved with each run so far and was beaten less than a length at Leicester latest. Expecting could come on for his debut over 6f here, while Indian Warrior ran a cracker over C&D latest.

Verdict

Charles Hills boasts a decent strike with 2-y-os this year and EXPECTING could be another juvenile winner for the yard. He showed plenty of speed on debut here, leaving the impression that he will not only improve for the experience but will also be suited by the drop to this trip. Indian Warrior is an obvious danger following his solid C&D effort. Demons Rock and Zalshah are others to consider.

No show in 2 starts to date and it's easy enough to look elsewhere.

Verdict

Just a neck separated QUICK SKIPS LAD (second) from Tie Em Up Tel (third) in a seller at Goodwood last time and the former in particular won't lack for experience here, having been on the go since the opening day of the season. Shovel It On could improve for the return to turf after struggling somewhat at Wolverhampton, while Bumble Beeze is likely to improve for his first taste of racecourse action at Dunstall Park.

Verdict

QUICK SKIPS LAD is taken to confirm recent Goodwood placings with Tie Em Up Tel and emerge on top. The latter's stablemate Shovel It On is best of the rest.

Back in the winning groove over C&D last month. Decent effort when fourth of 12 at Chepstow recently and, still on a workable mark, he needs considering.

Verdict

Bahamian Dollar followed up a second-placed finish here with an agonising short head defeat at Salisbury last time and the handicapper may have taken a chance in leaving him on the same mark, while Whitecrest's winning run came to an abrupt end at Lingfield last time and she is actually 1lb higher here. Pretty Bubbles and Cool Bahamian have both slipped to feasible ratings, but preference is for KING OF SPIN, who won nicely over C&D two starts ago, was not disgraced here last time and is 1lb lower than for the latest of those runs.

Verdict

BAHAMIAN DOLLAR has been rather in-and-out this year, but he's found just one too good on each of his last 2 starts and can deservedly regain the winning thread. He may have most to fear from King of Spin, but the likes of Handytalk, Cool Bahamian and Ginzan all merit respect, too.

Didn't live up to expectations for Roger Varian and efforts in handicaps for new yard this season have been uninspiring.

Verdict

VENUTIUS signed off last season, and his time with Ed McMahon, with a narrow victory at Ripon and though his first run for Charlie Hills ended in defeat on soft ground, it will have blown away the cobwebs and could set him up for a big run here. After a series of failures in Ireland for David Wachman, Fit For The Job was sent off favourite on his debut for Jonjo O'Neill, though that ended in another defeat. He could be better than that, though, so is respected, along with Leicester winner Manton Grange and Windsor regular Shifting Star.

Verdict

MANTON GRANGE deservedly opened his account at Leicester recently and, with a 5 lb rise perfectly fair and James Doyle again in the hot-seat, he is taken to follow up. Fit For The Job is lurking on a very dangerous mark, but he has a bit to prove at present and Brendan Powell's charges The Salmon Man and Udogo may emerge as the main dangers.

Promising start to her career when fourth over C&D last month. Too keen when upped to 1½m on soft ground at Newmarket next time and she's probably worth another chance.

Verdict

PREROGATIVE might not get a more winnable opportunity than this. Richard Hannon's charge has filled the runner-up spot in three of his last four starts and showed he stays this far when attempting to make all at Chepstow last time. Marie Josephe ran a cracker on debut over C&D but struggled over further at Newmarket last time, so Percy B Shelley looks the biggest danger after shaping well enough on his Wolverhampton debut in December.

Verdict

The one with the most striking potential by some way is PERCY B SHELLEY, who caught the eye when fifth on debut at Wolverhampton and can take this prior to going on to better things. Prerogative may well be the bridesmaid once again, while newcomer Amazing Steps will be of interest if the market speaks in his favour and Marie Josephe makes each-way appeal.
