Verdict

JAVELIN showed just how accustomed she had got to these surroundings when successful over C&D last time and she could follow up off 7lb higher. William Muir's filly may be given most to think about by Harbour Approach, who went close at Leicester when last tried over this trip, while Miss Milla B is 2lb lower than when a solid fourth here last time.

Verdict

Having shaped well on handicap debut at Leicester in June, HARBOUR APPROACH can be excused his Chepstow effort later that month, and there are certainly races to be won with him at this sort of level. Javelin did taste success last time and he's a player if blinkers work again, while Spiced is surely capable of better.

Verdict

Poyle Charlotte was a shade disappointing in third at Brighton last time, having struck twice prior to that. It's far too soon to be writing her off, but she may find DUTCH MONARCH too strong here. Sir Mark Prescott's filly has been in fine form on this Tapeta surface of late, winning nicely off 6lb lower last time, and can defy the handicapper's rise here. Handicap debutant Romaana is another to note.

Verdict

DUTCH MONARCH gained reward for a trio of luckless runs when successful over this C&D a month ago, and given her profile and the form of her yard, the follow up could well be on the cards from 6 lb higher. Poyle Charlotte has already enjoyed a successful summer and is feared most back on the AW, with Secret Memories also considered.

Verdict

TROTTER was blown away at Windsor last time, but his form on this track is much more solid, winning a seller here in February. He meets the top-rated Central City on the same terms as it would be in a handicap, so can get back to winning ways here. Domestic Way is interesting on the form of his debut second at Chelmsford, but he ran a shocker here last time.

Verdict

TROTTER, Central City and Ubla are not the most convincing trio, but this should really rest between them on these terms, The first-named runner's best performances have come on the AW so he gets the vote.

Verdict

PENARTH PIER has acquitted herself well in three starts to date and may have been found an ideal opportunity to open her account. A pair of newcomers look the biggest dangers, with the speedily-bred Mark Johnston filly French Twist preferred ahead of Tom Dascombe's 35,000 guineas purchase Lola's Theme.

Verdict

FRENCH TWIST is the first foal of a half-sister to a smart 1m/9f winner, and given the standard achieved by those with experience isn't high, she could easily be up to the job. Red Saree also appeals on paper, while Out of Angels could be a different proposition this time.

Promising individual. Very good third of 7 in minor event at Nottingham (5f, good to firm, 16/1) 20 days ago. Makes tapeta debut. Open to improvement.

Verdict

PINARELLA produced her best effort to date when third at Nottingham last time and it might be worth siding with her as she appears progressive. Wolf Hunter is an obvious danger after filling third place over course and distance last time, while It's The Only Way is rated miles clear of the rest of this field and would be very tough to beat if living up to his mark of 88.

Verdict

PINARELLA has caught the eye on her last 2 starts and almost certainly has a bigger performance in her, so in receipt of 19 lb from Its The Only Way, she could be the answer. Wolf Hunter looks to be the other player on form.

Verdict

Owen Burrows' lightly raced Althaaqib got off the mark in taking fashion in a Lingfield maiden last time and has to be respected heading into the handicap ranks in good form. However, James Tate's REAL ESTATE has knocked on the door on both outings since landing his first victory here over seven furlongs, and the extra furlong on the agenda could be just what is required to secure a return to the winner's enclosure now. The consistent Pheidippides can't be ignored, while Dark Alliance has a stellar record here and could be dangerous if getting his own way.

Verdict

REAL ESTATE's runner-up effort to Dutch Monarch (runs in race 2 on the card) here last month is strong form and his revised mark may well underestimate him with this trip unlikely to be a problem. The selection may have most to fear from Pheidippides.
