Verdict

Indicia failed to justify favouritism at Ascot last time having previously run a debut second at headquarters in a maiden that has worked out well; Charlie Hills' filly sets a clear standard on the formbook but she was a little disappointing in the aforementioned Ascot contest and is taken on with FOREVER IN LOVE. The selection was unable to justify being sent off favourite on her racecourse bow at Ascot last month but she showed signs of inexperience and is expected to know a lot more now. Long Embrace appeals most of the newcomers.

Verdict

FOREVER IN LOVE failed to justify her position at the head of the betting when fifth on debut at Lingfield, but Sir Michael Stoute's 2-y-os usually come on for a run and this Dutch Art filly is likely to do just that. She is marginally preferred to Indicia, who looks the one to beat judged on her debut promise. Newcomers Long Embrace and Odyssa both need a market check.

Lightly-raced maiden. 5/1, very good third of 7 in seller at Thirsk (6f, good to soft) 10 days ago. Makes tapeta debut and shade more needed.

Verdict

A small but tricky claimer with little to separate the triumvirate. Funkadelic posted his best effort at Bath on his penultimate outing but showed little in a York handicap latest, while Sandama tries the minimum for the first time having posted a respectable effort in a Thirsk claimer earlier this month. Marginal preference, however, is for CHRISTMAS NIGHT who should be up to winning one of these judged by solid efforts the last twice.

Verdict

FUNKADELIC failed to land a blow in a Class 3 York nursery last time, but this represents a significant drop in grade and he will prove a tough nut to crack if reproducing the form of his penultimate start at Bath. Christmas Night may have the edge over Sandama in the battle for second place.

Twice-raced maiden. Second of 5 in maiden (5/2) at Bath (5f, soft) 5 days ago. Others preferred.

Verdict

HELLO GIRL cut little ice in a far stronger event at Newbury last time but this represents a much less exacting assignment and Dean Ivory's charge is fancied to get off the mark at the fifth time of asking. Lucky Lucky Man could not recover from a slow start when a fast-finishing fourth in a similar C&D contest a fortnight ago but would be a danger to all if getting away on terms. Dreamboat Annie appears to be on good terms with herself at present and rates best of the remainder.

Verdict

It was no surprise that HELLO GIRL found the Super Sprint at Newbury too hot and, back at a more realistic level, she looks the one to be on. Lucky Lucky Man stepped up on his low-key debut when fourth here last time and he is next best. Likely improver Leaderofthepack may also have a part to play.

Lightly-raced maiden. Sixth of 9 in handicap at Wetherby (14f, firm, 4/1) 56 days ago. Enters calculations.

Verdict

Sure To Explore made little impression at Bath latest but is down in class and cannot be dismissed now starting out on a synthetic surface. Both Monaco Rose and African Beat enter calculations on recent form but it may be worth forgiving LA VIE EN ROSE a poor effort at Beverley when last sighted in June. Mark Johnston's filly finished last of three on that occasion but that appeared too bad to be true and, as she was not beaten up when her chance had gone and appears to go well on the all-weather, she is taken to get back on track.

Verdict

AFRICAN BEAT has posted a couple of solid efforts since joining Richard Hughes and gets the nod back at the scene of her maiden success last winter. La Vie En Rose wasn't herself at Beverley last time but had been steadily progressive prior to that and may provide the main threat ahead of the consistent Monaco Rose.

Course winner. Latest win here in April. Blinkered first time, creditable third of 9 in handicap at Yarmouth (7f, good, 8/1) 26 days ago, nearest finish. Back up in trip. 3 lb out of handicap.

Verdict

COMMODITY'S bid for a four-timer hit the buffers at Haydock when last seen out in June, but the son of Dutch Art may well have been inconvenienced by the soft terrain that day having done most of his previous winning on top of the ground and he can get back in the winning groove with further progress a distinct possibility. The potentially unexposed Big Tour found just the one too good on his debut in the handicap ranks at Newbury last month and rates the chief danger ahead of top-weight Wind In My Sails.

Verdict

Godolphin's BIG TOUR is progressing nicely and can take another step up the ladder here under promising apprentice David Egan. Commodity's winning run came to an end last time but he could easily get back on the up after a short break, while Wind In My Sails shaped nicely when third at Newbury last time and is also respected.

Placed over C&D on last 3 starts, looking unlucky not to finish closer when third 14 days ago. Likely to be in the shake-up again.

Verdict

The potentially unexposed Flourishing will be a popular selection having hinted that she has room for manoeuvre off her current rating when third at Redcar latest, while Dusky Maid won with something to spare over a furlong shorter here on Thursday and comes into the equation despite the inevitable penalty. Alouja takes a sharp drop in class after a poor effort at headquarters last time but the vote goes to CLEAR AS A BELL, thriving at present after successive victories and only 3lb higher than her latest success at Redcar.

Verdict

DUSKY MAID won easily over 6f here last week and a 6 lb penalty doesn't look enough to stop her going in again if turning up in the same form. Flourishing failed to progress as expected when third on her handicap debut last time but she remains with potential after only 4 starts, while Many A Tale is also lightly raced and returns to the scene of her debut success.
