Verdict

The form of TELLOVOI's game Southwell success looks fairly strong with the third winning twice subsequently and, already proven on this different surface, he rates the one to beat. Joey's Destiny warrants plenty of respect lining up off the same mark as when third in a similar C&D event last time (Corporal Maddox fifth), especially with Russell Harris taking 7lb off his back, while Compass Hill is an interesting player on his first start for the stable that won this race last year.

Verdict

The handicapper has taken a major chance with COMPASS HILL on debut for Jo Hughes given he finished placed in a couple of stronger handicaps than this on turf in Ireland last year. Joey's Destiny and Justice Pleasing offered more last time and are feared most with Tellovoi not an obvious follow-up candidate.

Verdict

John Gosden saddled the winner of this contest 12 months ago and he appears to have another cracking chance with DALTREY this time around. The son of Iffraaj has steadily been edging closer to the target and is sure to go close if running up to his rating of 79. Michael Corleone, Secret Return and Musbaq have also shaped with plenty of promise in previous starts and all three warrant respect, while Servilia is worth a market check at least ahead of her debut.

Verdict

DALTREY has been knocking on the door in recent weeks and despite a double-figure draw, he should take some stopping. Secret Return and Michael Corleone can fight it out for minor honours unless Servilia is an above-average newcomer.

Verdict

The form of FLORA TRISTAN's one-length defeat at Chelmsford represents the best form on offer and, open to further improvement, she might be able to land the spoils. Breaking Records improved from his first to second start and should give Josephine Gordon a good spin, while Mearing merits consideration being stepped up in trip with first-time cheekpieces equipped. Newcomers Stapleford, Sounds Approving and Where's Mummy add further spice to the race.

Verdict

BREAKING RECORDS again shaped well at Lingfield last time despite not having the run of the race and he could be the way to go in what doesn't look a particularly strong maiden on paper. Flora Tristan is progressive and can pick up a race. Involved might be the pick of the newcomers.

Verdict

Two-time course winner Bosham is handicapped to go close if back to his best, though he is likely to face plenty of competition for the lead here against ACCLAIM THE NATION. The five-year-old is unexposed as a sprinter and was second on his only start on the all-weather on debut two years ago. He has a 270-day layoff to overcome, but did win after an absence at Doncaster in April. Liquid continues to improve on Tapeta, while Logi is interesting on stable bow for Rebecca Bastiman.

Verdict

SOMETHING LUCKY is still thriving and can resume winning ways having not been seen to best effect at Southwell last time. Liquid and Midnightly are a couple of others to consider.

Verdict

First-time cheekpieces and a first try on Tapeta made all the difference to GREAT RETURN at this venue nine days ago when the son of New Approach sauntered home by seven lengths to make a mockery of his mark of 60. With the five-year-old set to go up further in future, it is no surprise to see him turned out so quickly under a 6lb penalty. Luv U Whatever did it well at Chelmsford five days ago but has a big weight to carry now, while London Glory looks best of the remainder.

Verdict

GREAT RETURN looked better than ever as he belatedly shed the maiden tag over further here 9 days ago, and he could well make light of his 6 lb penalty if arriving in the same form. London Glory and Luv U Whatever are a couple of others to consider.

Verdict

CHERRY OAK was touched off by under a length when second over 6f at Newcastle last time and is expected to go one better now dropping back in distance. Swissie is only 4lb higher than when scoring over this trip at Newcastle last time could be the one to put up most resistance, though Rock On Baileys commands respect after an authoritative success at Chelmsford in November and could also be primed for a big run.

Verdict

ROCK ON BAILEYS has gone up 11 lb for her victory at Chelmsford in November, yet that was a pretty convincing display and she could well be up to following up in another ordinary contest. Ghost found little behind a couple of these at Newcastle recently, but is entitled to strip fitter and can do better, while Cherry Oak can also make the frame.

Verdict

MONTAGUE was claimed out of the Jamie Osborne yard after winning at this track last month and can be expected to improve now in the care of David O'Meara. The step back up in trip is also considered a positive for him given he is a C&D winner. Our Man In Havana rarely runs a bad race and could give the selection most to think about on these terms, while Immortal Romance could feasibly play a minor role if improving for this step up in distance.

Verdict

ONEROA had excuses when fourth over shorter here 4 weeks ago and given the promise of her narrow C&D defeat previously, she could be worth chancing to prove herself on a handy mark. Takeonefortheteam is proving consistent in handicaps and along with Montague, heads the dangers in the finale.
