Verdict

BERNIE'S BOY has been running consistently well for a number of weeks now and he was only narrowly denied under a penalty at Chelmsford on Saturday. That performance proved that he can win off this sort of mark and he is taken to go one better here, as long as those exertions have not taken their toll. Muhajjal is another who arrives here on the back of some good performances, while Critical Thinking and Compass Hill also warrant consideration.

Verdict

BERNIE'S BOY is another Phil McEntee charge on a roll at present and he might be up to notching another win. Muhajjal, Compass Hill and Critical Thinking are others who arrive at the top of their game in what looks a competitive race for the level.

Verdict

King Kevin won twice here earlier in the winter and the four-year-old has not been disgraced in any of his subsequent starts. That said, there may be one or two of these who are better handicapped than him and one that stands out is WILLYEGOLASSIEGO. The five-year-old mare has won twice at this track in recent months and she may improve for a short break following a series of quick runs. Ice Canyon remains winless but should be in the mix for the places.

Verdict

KING KEVIN would have gone close off this mark last time but for meeting trouble and can notch a fifth win of a most productive AW campaign. Willyegolassiego is another enjoying a good spell and rates an obvious threat, while Stonific probably needed the run on his recent British debut and could step up on that now.

Verdict

SEASEARCH could be hard to beat here despite having to shoulder a 6lb penalty for his runaway 23-length victory last time at Southwell. Fabella Bere has been slowly heading in the right direction and is entitled to go well, while Dubai Landmark is respected hailing from Hugo Palmer's stable, despite his form being far from inspiring.

Verdict

The deep surface at Southwell perhaps exaggerated SEASEARCH's winning margin last time but it's still hard to escape the fact that he blew his field apart and he'll surely take plenty of stopping under a penalty if turning up in similar form. Dubai Landmark wasn't disgraced from too far back on handicap debut and can fill the forecast spot under James Doyle.

Verdict

BOWDITCH got off the mark at Lingfield last time and can follow up here having relished the step up to 1m2f that day. It also appears the tight turns of the all-weather circuit play to his strengths and he will be hard to beat here. The Rip Van Winkle gelding Lumen is an interesting newcomer for Roger Charlton and should be monitored for market support, while Cross Swords and Nordic Flight have place claims.

Verdict

BOWDITCH's Lingfield form received a boost when the third won nicely next time and John Gosden's charge is expected to prove hard to beat on his return under James Doyle. Lumen is a newcomer from a good yard and it would be no surprise if he were the one to follow the favourite home. Cross Swords has shown enough to suggest he has ability and also makes the shortlist.

Twice-raced maiden. Cheekpieces on first time, first run since leaving Richard Hughes when last of 6 in claimer at Lingfield (7f) 47 days ago.

Verdict

Jo Hughes has a strong hand here represented by both PEGGY'S ANGEL and Get Even. The preference is for the former who scored twice in good company last summer and will have benefited for a break this winter. The booking for 7lb claimer Harry Burns eases the burden of the penalty he carries for those successes and he rates the one to side with on this occasion. Tom Marquand is a positive booking for Get Even, who has won here in the past, while others capable of figuring include the improving Belated Breath and Mother of Dragon.

Verdict

Jo Hughes looks to hold a strong hand here. GET EVEN wasn't at her best in good company on her final 2 starts last term but had shown fairly useful form prior to that and could take a bit of stopping if back to that level on her return. Stablemate Peggy's Angel has a double penalty to shoulder but still looks the main danger ahead of Jonnysimpson.

Verdict

RIVER RULE didn't run to market expectations on her handicap debut (and final start for Stuart Williams) at Wolverhampton but could do better now dropped in distance for Tony Carroll. The booking of Luke Morris catches the eye and she clearly shows something at home having been well-backed into 11-4 last time out. Inuk should appreciate this added furlong and first-time blinkers, while recent C&D winner Spring Romance is drawn to attack again.

Verdict

SPRING ROMANCE showed much-improved form when making a winning handicap debut over C&D last month, and with further improvement on the cards, he’s taken to follow up. Inuk should give another good account, while River Rule and Sandytown may both do better at some point given their pedigrees.

Verdict

Battle Lines failed to settle early on here 18 days ago and wears a first-time hood tonight, while Surrey Blaze is chasing a four-timer but could struggle now up 8lb and in a better class back on Tapeta for Joseph Tuite. Verstappen was fourth behind the smart Racing Post Trophy runner-up Roaring Lion at Kempton last time, but it could be worth chancing WE ARE THE WORLD. Archie Watson has had his string in fine form over the winter and first-time blinkers can spark the three-year-old into life following a break.

Verdict

SURREY BLAZE is on a roll and looks sure to make another bold bid in pursuit of the 4-timer. Battle Lines is knocking on the door, while Verstappen may do better now handicapping after a break.
