Overcame inexperience to make a winning start in 9-runner maiden at Newmarket (5f, good) last month. Potentially useful and sure to win more races.

Verdict

A very interesting contest and plenty of these arrive here with valid form claims. That said, the marginal preference is for NICKI'S ANGEL, who overcame greenness to win impressively on her debut at Musselburgh earlier in the month. That form was boosted when the second won on Tuesday and this daughter of Dark Angel should only improve for that experience. No Lippy is an obvious threat based on her victory in the Lily Agnes, while Strings Of Life and Spell also warrant consideration.

Verdict

STRINGS OF LIFE overcame inexperience to make a winning start at Newmarket last month, and she's a potentially useful filly in the making. It's hard not to have been impressed with Lily Agnes winner No Lippy, who's shown a really likeable attitude on both her starts, while Cotubanama, On The Stage and Carrie's Vision all have the potential for better.

Looked fine prospect when winning a Goodwood maiden and the Lowther here last term. Seemed ill at ease both starts at Newmarket since, including on return, so switch back to this venue may help.

Verdict

Threading sets the clear standard on her juvenile form having won the Lowther Stakes here over 6f last August but her two starts since have been disappointing and the step up to a mile isn't guaranteed to suit. Preference, therefore, goes to SHEIKHA REIKA, who possesses some decent form as a juvenile and won her maiden nicely at Newmarket's Craven meeting last month. Dark Rose Angel and Dance Diva are the pick of the remainder.

Verdict

SHEIKHA REIKA laid positive foundations as a 2-y-o and built on those exploits to make an encouraging return at Newmarket last month, scoring with a bit in hand. The return to slightly further will hold no fears and she can take the step up in grade in her stride. Lowther winner Threading seemed ill at ease both tries at Newmarket and is not written off here. Awesometank can also feature.

Went winless in good company on the Flat last year and looks vulnerable in his advancing years, so others preferred for all he arrives on the back of an excellent second Punchestown Champion Hurdle.

Verdict

Willie Mullins' Max Dynamite is expected to prove popular given he's the mount of Ryan Moore and because of the Group One form he brings to the table. He had reopposing stablemate Wicklow Brave behind when third in the Melbourne Cup and is respected, likewise Stradivarius who sets the standard on his St Leger and Long Distance Cup bronze medals. DESERT SKYLINE gets the nod, though, as he can show the benefit of having had a run in the Sagaro Stakes at Ascot.

Verdict

STRADIVARIUS is a highly likeable colt who showed vast improvement throughout last year and, while a slight drop back in trip in a relatively small field isn't absolutely ideal for his return, he should have enough quality to grind his way to the front before he returns to the top level. Desert Skyline is another stayer to keep on side in 2018 and Max Dynamite has to be respected given his class.

Took form to a new level when recording brace of 1m handicaps in August, but levels dipped thereafter. Fairly encouraging return at Newcastle (7f) 17 days ago but this step into the unknown trip wise.

Verdict

It might pay to side with smart dual-purpose performer BANDITRY in what looks a tricky puzzle for punters to solve. Ian Williams has his string in great form at the moment, highlighted by two big-race wins at the recent Chester meeting, and this six-year-old caught the eye when staying on to finish fourth on his reappearance in a high-class 1m1f handicap at Newmarket. Capton improved throughout last season and warrants respect on his return to action with Ryan Moore aboard, while Thundering Blue and Valcartier are others to note.

Verdict

THUNDERING BLUE has some strong handicap form to his name and, having very much caught the eye on return at Epsom recently, he is fancied to prove himself on a competitive mark under Andrea Atzeni. Valcartier also caught the eye on his reappearance and is interesting, ahead of Titus.

Difficult to recommend on her form so far this season.

Verdict

CRAFTY MADAM represents the in-form Clive Cox stable and, the mount of Ryan Moore, she remains on what looks a good mark of 80 given she's open to more improvement and wasn't beaten far into third off 1lb lower at Kempton last time. Lady In Question and Pepita arrive full of confidence following their recent wins at Doncaster and Wetherby respectively and join the returning Isabella and Bint Arcano on the shortlist.

Verdict

ISABELLA is a well-bred filly who should have plenty more to offer this year given she remains lightly raced. Crafty Madam is another still unexposed, with Bint Arcano and Starlight Romance others capable of getting involved.

Verdict

KODITIME has underfoot conditions to suit on his seasonal reappearance and, on his handicap debut, could be well treated off 91 with the booking of Ryan Moore a big positive. Roundhay Park won well on his return to action at Ripon and is noted, while Dotted Swiss is respected arriving in good nick and Charming Guest, at the opposite end of the handicap, brings some good form to the table having finished third behind a useful type in novice company at Doncaster recently.

Verdict

ROUNDHAY PARK undoubtedly improved again when making a winning return at Ripon recently, the manner in which he drew clear suggesting he can be a major player in leading 3-y-o sprint handicaps. He can defy a rise in the weights, with Kimifive, Koditime and Bow Belles, at likely longer odds, heading the list of dangers.
